August 18, 20233 yr about time Sonny Fodera finally got a top 40 smash, great to see it! been ages since MK’s last hit and also an overdue first hit for Clementine Douglas so good all round. not sure why we needed a dance version of Ferrari Horses only two years after the original hit but its decent for what it is I guess.

The explosive success of her early career saw her on lineups beside major players in the industry, supporting the likes of Carl Cox, MK, FISHER and CamelPhat. Following that she spent 3 seasons as an Ibiza resident when she was 19 years old, and has since performed all over the world as a lady behind the decks with the crowd at her fingertips. Hannah’s deep understanding of the dancefloor stems from her parent’s love of electronic genres – spanning house and trance, her childhood was soundtracked by unforgettable figures such as the likes of Sasha, Roger Sanchez, Paul Oakenfold and Dave Pearce. Launching her very own podcast and club night ‘Hannah’s Choice’ in 2019 saw a running of sell out events across Scotland hosting headliners like Ben Hemsley and Hannah Wants. Her coveted edits and bootlegs have sparked global hype, but particularly her take on Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Murder On The Dancefloor, which has received support from Jaguar Solardo, Cloonee and more. Stacking up releases on acclaimed labels such as Jax Jones’ WUGD, Spinnin’ Records, Solardo’s Solaand Patrick Topping’s TRICK where ‘And Back’ was Trick’s Tasty Techno bestselling track, Sarah Story’s Future Track ID and received support from Danny Howard and Pete Tong. This all comes alongside bookings at iconic venues like London’s Printworks, SWG3 Glasgow, Creamfields, and the legendary DC10 as part of the Patrick Toppings first TRICK takeover, plus the legendary Ministry of Soundfor the first installment of Jax Jones Presents: Midnight Snacks. This year is set to be Hannah’s best yet, with a back-to-back summer schedule taking her across the biggest festivals and club stages in Europe, plus further releases on their way. - last.fm RoRo Hailing from the island of Barbados, RoRo wears her musical influences on her skin - via tattoos of her idols Etta James, Erykah Badu, Lauren Hill and Nina Simone inked onto her arms. Equipped with attitude (and choruses) to spare, RoRo showcased her ability to reach audiences far beyond her island roots with her debut EP - 'Mood Forever'. Earning Annie Mac's 'New Name' on BBC Radio 1 with her debut single, Mine, RoRo went on to gain further support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC 1xtra, Capital Xtra and beyond. Follow-up singles Dance with the Devil and Mood Forever landed support from radio and online tastemakers in UK, U.S., Europe and across the Caribbean. An interview feature on Edith Bowman's Play Next podcast gave a glimpse into RoRo's world and the writing behind it. 2020 also saw RoRo reactively release Black - Palace of Me, in response to the Black Lives Matter movement. A one-take track that explores black positivity, recorded over a year prior and not intended for a release, it showcased the depth of RoRo's writing ability and yet another musical style that she effortlessly carries. - Spotify Top 100 Chart History Hannah Laing 2023 07 Good Love (Hannah Laing & RoRo) -NAS- 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 RoRo 2023 07 Good Love (Hannah Laing & RoRo) 0 x #1 | 0 x Top 5 | 1 x Top 10 | 1 x Top 20 | 1 x Top 40 | 1 x Top 100 Social Media Hannah Laing RoRo http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png

August 18, 20233 yr Why exactly do people think this is a “bad cover” - I personally think it’s an excellent rendition It is a very faithful cover so it doesn't really do anything wrong (I just don't have much to desire to hear it when the original already exists) tho it does basically sound like audio heaven compared to Jonas Blue's trash ass version lmao

As Beatport has documented, the second half of the previous decade saw a renaissance in jagged, jump-up sounds that propelled a whole crop of producers to the forefront of the genre. A vanguard of established artists — most notably the Kings of the Rollers — led the charge, but Bou and others were one row back, crafting their sound and shaping drum & bass’s roughshod evolution. After a friend introduced him to drum & bass through the free party scene, Bou got hooked on YouTube production tutorials and the SoundCloud jump-up community from the age of 16. Now 25 years old, Bou is a highly successful artist and touring DJ, having recently remixed both High Contrast’s classic “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and DJ Fresh’s “Gold Dust.” With an upward-trending trajectory and a sound that has begun to move into more radio-friendly territory, Bou is entering the next chapter of his story. Bou’s trajectory has matched the rising fortunes of the genre as a whole, and it’s impossible to deny that he has played a central role in the rough-and-tumble jump-up sounds that have defined the genre. Should drum & bass take a turn toward the mainstream, it seems likely he’ll help write that chapter too. - Beatportal Top 100 Chart History Bou 2021 84 Streetside (Bru-C & Bou) -NAS- 2023 26 Closer (feat. August 18, 20233 yr Author 27 | 27 | 23rd week Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding Miracle Non-album single Released: 10th March 2023 Label: Sony Music Entertainment UK Chart Statistics NE (23/03/2023) | 3-2-3-1-1-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-3-3-3-4-21-26-30-32-27-27 Sales: 800k+ Certification: Platinum Status: Accelerated Chart Ratio 01 Sales 01 Audio Streaming 01 Video Streaming Video 961v0E3b01g Biography Calvin Harris Talk about an unexpected career trajectory. In 2007, 23-year-old Calvin Harris released I Created Disco, a cheeky shot across dance music’s bow that presented him as Scotland’s brow-arched answer to LCD Soundsystem. Fast-forward a few years, and the scruffy fellow playing house-party host in the “Merrymaking at My Place” video is suddenly baring oil-slicked abs on Emporio Armani billboards. What happened, of course, is that Harris (born Adam Richard Wiles in 1984) traded up from the Amiga computer of his teens, developed some of the best studio chops in the business with deep-house rollers like 2013's “Thinking About You”, and helped spark EDM’s pop crossover with hits for Rihanna, Florence Welch, Ellie Goulding and others. Along the way, he became one of the 2010s’ first DJ/producer/songwriter polymaths to earn top billing even on the songs in which he didn’t sing. No stranger to pyro-lit main stages—his percussive, synth-strafed 2014 single “C.U.B.A.” is big-room house at its most gargantuan—Harris has resisted getting boxed into any one sound. On 2017’s Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1, he lays down a set of slinky R&B jams for Frank Ocean, Migos and Young Thug, while the 2018 singles “Promises”, with Sam Smith, and “One Kiss”, with Dua Lipa, proved just how versatile his vision of pop can be. - Apple Music Ellie Goulding Ellie Goulding's breakthrough was nothing if not decisive. She rose to stardom in 2010 with her debut album, Lights, which earned the Critics’ Choice prize at the Brit Awards and led the BBC’s “Sound of…” poll. She’s only the second artist to win both in the same year, sharing the honour with none other than Adele. The Hereford-born singer started performing and composing as a young girl, influenced by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Kate Bush, then teamed with Lights producer Starsmith while still a student at the University of Kent. The collaboration helped elevate Goulding’s natural talents as a singer-songwriter, turning her into an electropop phenom as she blended acoustic guitars and dance-floor-ready beats on “Starry Eyes” and the Bjork-evoking “Under the Sheets”. Her biggest moment came in 2015 with “Love Me Like You Do”, the power ballad from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack that sold millions and cemented her as a world-class pop star. In addition to going platinum with her albums Halcyon and Delirium, Goulding’s versatility with genres and lyricism has made her an in-demand collaborator, working on “Return to Love” with classical tenor Andrea Bocelli, the club hit "I Need Your Love" with producer Calvin Harris and the 2019 break-up anthem "Hate Me" with Juice WRLD. What’s next for Goulding’s career? To quote the title of another of her 2012 hits, “anything could happen.” - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History Calvin Harris 2007 10 Acceptable In The 80s -1- 2007 03 The Girls -2- 2007 43 Merrymaking At My Place -3- 2008 01 Dance Wiv Me (Dizzee Rascal feat. August 18, 20233 yr Author 26 | 24 | 7th week D-Block Europe and Clavish Pakistan 2nd single from DBE World Released: 30th June 2023 Label: D-Block Europe Chart Statistics NE (13/07/2023) | 10-8-13-18-28-24-26 Sales: 80k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 99 Sales 12 Audio Streaming 02 Video Streaming Video Ry1m40ScWks Biography D-Block Europe “We’re the ones that are pushing this boundary,” D-Block Europe’s Young Adz told Apple Music. “People who are signing urban music over here—they call it urban, we call it pop in the streets—that ain’t street music. We’re doing street, UK, wavy music, front-lining it.” They might not consider themselves pop, but by the most literal definition, DBE are just that. Chart positions, sold-out arenas and a nomination for the 2020 BRIT Award for British Group (before they’d even released a debut album) all make them one of UK rap’s most popular acts. D-Block Europe was originally a collective that called upon various London MCs, but Adz and childhood friend Dirtbike LB have emerged as both the engine room and executive board of the operation. They met at Sedgehill School in South London, where Adz was dropping mixtapes from the age of 13. He signed an ultimately fruitless major-label deal at 15 before coming under the patronage of NY rap heavyweight Jadakiss, who offered features, support slots and license to use The LOX’s D-Block Records name. With a series of self-released singles and mixtapes, Young Adz and Dirtbike LB took their place at UK rap’s top table during the late 2010s. Leavening trap’s chilly textures and portraits of road life with sticky Auto-Tuned hooks, their music is notable for its nimble wordplay and candour. While D-Block quickly gathered notoriety for their unfiltered bedroom braggadocio (“Kitchen Kings”), their willingness to open up about mental health and therapy (“Prescription Drugs”) has made them a standout presence in UK rap. It’s all been done independently by the industrious duo (63 new tracks released across three mixtapes during 2019 alone). They’ve continuously waved away offers from labels, confident that no one can guide their career as well as they can. Every award, Top 5 release or filled arena only strengthens their self-belief. “When you see Messi kick ball, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing,” said Young Adz. “Sometimes, the people have to choose you because they’re like, ‘We ain’t never going to see this again—from their sounds, from what they talk about.’ Our personalities shine through our music. We’re bigger personalities than rappers.” - Apple Music Clavish It’s fair to say that Clavish is on an upward trajectory after finding consistency with releasing music and often finding success in how it’s being received by the culture. In 2021 he released his EP 2022 a five-track teaser into what a Clavish project would sound like and this year alone he has released ‘Lately’, ‘Greece’ and ‘Sold Out Shows’. In his latest release ‘Public Figure’ the North-West rapper acknowledges his newfound position in rap culture, arguably being seen as one of the most exciting up-and-coming rappers in a new generation that comes directly after the crop of Dave, Fredo, J Hus, AJ Tracey and Mostack. Navigating his success, like all rappers he still struggles to remove himself from certain situations that were familiar to him in his old life, as he raps with quality cadence “You know I’m an artist but if I see three numbers you know I’m spinning the coop.” - New Wave Magazine Top 100 Chart History D-Block Europe 2018 49 Gucci Mane (D-Block Europe & Yxng Bane) -1- 2018 35 Nassty (D-Block Europe, Young Adz, Dirtbike LB & Lil Pino) -NAS- 2018 80 Tell The Truth (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Rich The Kid) 2019 16 Kitchen Kings -1- 2019 62 Kettle Pouring -AT- 2019 70 Running Man -AT- 2019 20 Home P*ssy -1- 2019 53 Rich (The Plug presents D-Block Europe & Offset) 2019 16 Nookie (feat. August 18, 20233 yr hopefully quality wins and Billie is #1 love Dua but that FN leftover is really a leftover Dance The Night is NOT a leftover. It was written long after Future Nostalgia sessions based on what sound the director of Barbie wanted Before signing on to produce the Barbie soundtrack, producer Mark Ronson received a text from his friend George Drakoulias that simply stated, "Barbie?" Before production, director Greta Gerwig needed a disco song that would be the basis of highly choreographed dance number, so she sent Ronson a playlist of what she was looking for. Ronson and colleague Andrew Wyatt created a backing track that Gerwig loved and used for dance rehearsals. This song would later become "Dance the Night".[8][9]
