Really interested to see how NN performs in the charts - it seems to be selling well but I have no idea if that will translate into a decent re-entry.

I think the issue that will let it down is streaming.

If only the fans could stream the album instead of playing the vinyl and cd.

Also, if you get the vinyl isn't that counted as 2 sales if you activate the code?

^^ No, just 1 sale, the download code doesn’t count as an additional sale.

The lack of streaming will be slightly offset but the number of formats available, so many people (myself included) have ordered them all and I’ve seen lots of other people that have ordered at least 2.

The fact that the cassette and the 1,000 box sets with the bonus signed CD sold out shows that it has sold decently!

It's very hard to predict but top 40 seems to be fairly guaranteed, how much higher is gard to call.

What's the general consensus on "Get Into You"? I've just discovered it for the first time and I'm obsessed! It sounds soooo Janet Jackson to me?!

I bought it when it was released but hated it.

It was such a weird release too, months after the last single and album had tanked and was released in the UK via Mushroom Records, they must have had a real belief that they had a hit on their hands.

Also randomly several years ago the OCC downgraded its peak from #36 to #39.

Listening back to it now it’s very Janet Jackson but didn’t fit into the era or album at all.

:o I wonder why!

:o I wonder why!

Randomly a lot of tracks got their positions changed - Dannii’s GITY went from #36 to #39, Tina Cousins ‘Forever’ went from #45 to #38 - there were other changes too

Retroactively changing certain charts feels weird, even if the the previously revealed charts were wrong and the updated ones are correct - it's like changing history!

I was aware of that July 1999 chart change, poor Tina robbed out of a Top 40 when it would have mattered to her. Mel B (Melanie G :cheeseblock: ) Word Up changed to #13 instead of #14. *.*

I never liked it, I have given it a few tries but does nothing for me as an album,

Same - I always felt sorry for Tina! Such a massive change in positions too that would have made such a difference at the time!

Amazing that 20+ years later new data or errors are uncovered and they quietly update peak positions.

I never knew this happened at all if I'm honest, eeal shame for Tina as she was an artist that it would have made a difference to like Dannii.

Is there any chance of ever getting an explanation from them about this?

I mean, with that 1999 chart it's been widely regarded as being incorrect for years and they actually announced the retroactive amendment of it. With this there was nothing to explain it :???:

I think they've been really quite rude to Dannii here tbh.

Dannii has always been inspired by Janet. She sang a few of her songs on YTT and def loved her style of choreography.

GIY is def a album highlight and the reason it was released so far after the album campaign was to promote the VHS video compilation of all the GIY videos!

I am loving all the positive press Dannii is getting about her music (NEON NIGHTS and We could be the one). It's such a nice change for us fans.

Yeah she isn’t an active pop star, but damn the girl deserves her own thread and not with Kylie. Justice !
