I haven’t heard it yet but it’s out now in New Zealand… it’s had a very mixed reception from the fanbase! Apparently there’s not a single guitar in it, only synths and drums - interesting!
Just had a listen it might be a grower but at the moment I’m not a fan of it. I think it would be good if the production was more like their traditional sound.

Well….this is brilliant from start to finish!

I NEED AN ALBUM THOUGH!

Gotta say it's quite catchy after a listen.
Weird to hear a Killers single with no guitars! It's very PSB/New Order which is a good thing :)

Sound wise a agree, and it's a sound I like but the chorus is just missing something for me.

but actually it's just gonna be an EP, no album. They say they're talking things very very slowly.

the new one sounds great, some parts almost sound identical to True Faith to me...

Will catch their set from Reading tomorrow, but they're currently trending due to it for a plethora of reasons: 'Mr Brightside', dedicating that song to a victim of the Nottingham attacks that happened earlier this year, Brandon Flowers being talked about as one of the greatest ever front men + bringing on someone from the crowd "Ozzy from just out side of Bath" to play drums on 'For Reasons Unknown'.

Seen a couple of clips and it looks like a great set.

As for this song, I love it. It is the style of music they've being heading deeper towards for the last 15 years or so now... so I'm not surprised and it really works for them!

Brandon has said that they’ve scrapped the album that this and ‘boy’ were both made for, as they’re more interested in making albums like ‘Pressure Machine’ now. I’m alright with that!

I found another interview in which they say they were working on an album that got scrapped

that supposedly had those 2 songs

but there's no new album on the horizon or any plans whatsoever, just that EP for now

The Killers’ Brandon Flowers: ‘I’m in a crisis’ The lead singer says he’s had enough of making the kind of music that’s filled stadiums for 20 years. He talks about that controversial concert in Georgia and reveals why the band abandoned its new album halfway through.

Brandon Flowers, singer of the Killers, welcomes me into the garden of a lush Tudor home he is renting in the Cotswolds. It’s all honeyed stone, perfect lawns, prim borders — Flowers surrounded by flowers. This idyll aside, his head is swirling. His band released an upbeat synth-pop song, Your Side of Town, on Friday. It sounds like one of the hits from their debut, Hot Fuss, and was meant to be on a new album, but that is no longer happening. “Halfway through recording I realised, ‘I can’t do this,’” Flowers says. “This isn’t the kind of record. . .” He pauses. “I think this will be the . . .” He stumbles a little. “I don’t think you’ll see us making this type of music any more.” His leg is shaking — I assume from nerves.

Two years ago the band released Pressure Machine, a critically adored acoustic album of tragic tales from Flowers’s youth. It tells the stories of people he knew when he was growing up in Nephi, Utah. Murder, poverty, addiction — a far cry and a hefty dictionary away from a man whose most notorious lyric is: “Are we human/ Or are we dancer?” This, it soon becomes clear, is a star worth £22 million who got back in touch with his working-class roots and is no longer sure exactly who he is. “This is the crisis I’m in,” he says, sighing. “The Killers are my identity and our songs fill the seats, but I’m more fulfilled making music like Pressure Machine. I found a side of myself writing it that was strong. This was the guy I’d been looking for! I’m as proud of Hot Fuss as you can be for something you did when you were 20, but I’m not 20. So I’m thinking about the next phase of my life.”

Oh wow they went in HARD with the 80s influence *.* the synths were immediately reminding me of Depeche Mode but can definitely hear PSBs/New Order too. My kind of moodboard.
I quite like this but I do agree with Padamic Tension that the chorus isn't as good as it could be
