That’s a shame tbh - I guess it just highlights that Tension hasn’t really connected with the GP despite some radio support etc.,

It is doing what I expected to be honest hun without any discounts or additional i tunes / kylie.com digital downloads.

 

Maybe later this week they will drop a kylie.com digital download for extended or edit hun? Maybe on Thursday to keep it top 40?

its been a quiet week to be fair as she does promo in Europe. I am sure it will all come together.

 

 

Back in April for one of her songs to go 19-55 we would have been ecstatic haha. Lets see what happens for the rest of the week.

This! I’ll take a 19-55 any day over what we’ve had for the last decade!

and lets be honest. Kylie fans haven't got behind this as much as they did PP.

 

we haven't streamed it as much, we haven't downloaded as much and from different sites, we haven't posted as much.

 

not saying we should have as we usually give our all but definitely its been a lot quieter on the forums (we probably exhausted from PP)

 

anyway, still think more to come from Tension. A friend has told me the remixes are supposed to be excellent so......

 

Streaming and sales for Tension will likely out do all the Disco and Golden tracks

 

 

To be fair Tension spending 4 days at number 1 on itunes chart and still 22 after 11 days is better than any songs except Padam Padam

I know, we shouldn’t get used to Padam success for every future release, BUT Tension is just as good as Padam, so it deserves that level of success!

So its reaching a lot.

 

 

Remember also Spotify is not all premium streams. Apple and Amazon need more streaming. PP was 8 and Tension is 44 at moment.

 

Lets see what happens next, its a different strategy for Tension than it was for PP

Yeah, I think for a song not on Hot Hits in week 2 55 seems perfectly fine to me?

Cassette has just been dispatched so that should help this weeks position.

I think if anyone was expecting it to repeat Padam Padam’s trajectory (or really come close to it) they were setting themselves up to be disappointed. Tension had a lot more initial interest than any other Kylie single in over a decade and it just hasn’t connected enough to stay up there. This is the same thing as something in the 00s like Giving You Up spending one week in the top 10 then freefalling, definitely not a flop but not an enduring smash either

I see Calvin & Sam have an Amazon exclusive mix of Desire.

 

Thats something that could work well.

 

Amazon really is a key market for Kylie

Of course i would have liked higher than 55 but i think that might be the lowest it will be on Friday as hopefully the cassettes are not counted in yet and also we might get a new remix. This time last year we would have all been over the moon with a Kylie top 20 but Padam Padam spoiled us a little and may have raised our expectations. Im still hoping Tension can stock around for a bit.
