Ooooh, blimey. With that shipping on Thursday this means we'll have no idea where it could end up on Friday!

Hopefully it will do the trick and keep it top 20 at the least.

rises to 424 on Amazon Music. Gained about 50 places

Fab! 509 once explicit tracks are added back in.

It’s not yet in the top 100 of Amazon Music Unlimited, but it is at 25 in the Amazon Trending Songs. Previously it was lower than this.

Looks like they are really trying to get a top 20 peak for week 1 then, and a high peak to start with.

Happy with that strategy but I hope they have something else planned for week 2. I don’t want to see it go from top 20 to on verge of leaving top 40 immediately. I had previously thought they would have saved the CD’s for next week or the week after. I suppose cassettes and extended mix could help again? And they are probably hoping for a natural rise on streaming.

I wonder if they would be happy with a Top 20 (which would be her 2nd highest charting single with them) and then shift the focus to the album and let it do its thing?

Yes, to be fair I think that would still be an amazing result. My only concern with the high peak straight away strategy is making sure radio and playlisting doesn’t jump ship too early as they don’t see the ‘natural’ rise like Padam… and therefore the second chart week looks like it’s over before it’s started.

Hopefully that can be avoided by some nice hold ups on Apple and some rises again later in the week on Spotify. They may have some playlisting adds coming hopefully.

Week 2 it should be more established on streaming. She has a big concert for BBC Radio/Red Button on 17th Sept also plus all the promo coming for the album. There are plenty more edits and remixes to come and it should stay around for a bit. I think Hold On To Now may well come out the week before album release etc.

I predict a One Show appearance soon but maybe that will be connect to the BBC Concert.

The radio 2 concert is not going to make much difference to anything. The main thing is getting it on Capital’s playlist tomorrow evening and Hot Hits Uk on Friday.
I wonder what the CD will sell? As we know Kylie can easily shift 2.5k+ of physical single formats in the UK so it could potentially be double that seeing as they are being sold as a bundle as well as individually plus they are the cheapest they have ever made physical singles available for.

It sells downloads and albums. I am quietly hoping they move it from Red Button to BBC1 or BBC2 :)

Yes, exactly, which is why I said they could put out the extended mix (potentially instrumental?) next week on digital and then cassettes on week 3 since week 4 it'll get a boost from the album release. If it's not ready to fly on its own by then... well it was never meant to happen.

this is only 1 physical its the same CD, just different artwork.

So still got 2 more to go

Chart Rule 5.5: All physical formats should carry a unique catalogue number, and a unique barcode should relate to the catalogue number. This is applicable even when identical recordings are issued in different packaging, including colour variations of CD's and vinyl

4,969 sales

Slightly higher than PP started with though of course that had the first day downloads missing…be good if we had a breakdown.

With BMG throwing (almost) everything at week 1, I think Tension is set to debut in the Top 10. At least 5,000-6,000 physicals will be sold, I reckon.
I think top 10 is a stretch but hoping it can make the top 20.
Padam Padam was exciting, I’m in for supporting Tension chart wise too; especially when it’s such an earworm (more immediate than Padam Padam for me).
