Plus she has Santa Baby every year.

But that's like saying Mariah has AIWFC , and Kelly Clarkson.has UTT doesn't translate to chart success the rest of the year

It's still a hit that's happened after All the Lovers.

Yes a themed hit that only does well a certain time of the year and the fact it does well is because it is Christmas...

God you are such a mess hun

So disappointing for Selena 😭 idgi it's such a bop!

I know :( This time two weeks ago I thought it was set to smash, but it's kind of... floundered

I didn't think it was going to challenge for #1 like some people on here were suggesting but I definitely thought Selena would be looking at a top ten hit. At least Miley's is showing some signs of sticking around.
‘Tattoo’ nearly top 30 on Apple Music again??? :cheeseblock:
Selena has very little playlist support hence the semiflop, Miley is much better supported + has more virality on titktok too

But I thought artists didn't need playlist support to do well if they're coming off the back of a hit

Idk why Selena hasn’t become a more consistent smash maker in general tbh (at least here in the UK I’m not sure how she fares in the US)

I find her to be quite hit and miss with singles tbh, but her name feels big enough to be able to get a hit more often than she does. It’s odd to me tbh

TOLD YOU SO!!!

She is NOT a big name in the UK, at ALL. That dance song would have done just as well with anyone else on vocaks, who has backing feom a record company for payola.

It was never going to be no.1  I'm surprised it's even top 40

Did I say artists don't need playlist support if they come after a big hit?

The only thing I said is that having a hit should put you in a better position and you should do better from the start

if the Spotify generation embraces you like they did with Padam,

sure you're on a better position to start than she was when she was releasing those country songs a few years back

and Selena is doing ok, it's not flopping in the 200-300 section but debuted at #21 last Friday instead

but Selena is the kind of artist that 1000% needs spotify playlist support

haha don't think we're ever gonna understand each other or agree on anything

Olivia-Get Him Back seems to be the focus track on album release day,

#1 on NMF AU, All-American Bitch is track #10.

I see your point, but I think what some are saying is… it did do better off the back of Padam. Most of her songs have 0 days top 200, whilst this had 4, due to the support she has been being higher. But it can’t work miracles without playlist support, goodwill can only last for so many days.

Nicki is coming off the back of two top 10 hits recently, with Barbie World being top 5 just a few weeks ago, but Last Time I Saw You spent even less time.

So I think the discussion being had is that expectations of the follow up success need to be lowered because, it might have impact for a day or two when the song first comes out, but after that short while, playlisting is needed just as it is for every single other artist unfortunately.
