Born David Orobosa Omoregie in Brixton, London in 1998, Dave suddenly implanted himself in the UK rap scene in 2016, first with the electric grime alliance “Thiago Silva” with AJ Tracey and then when Drake jumped on the remix of the velvety “Wanna Know” from Dave’s first EP, Six Paths. Rebuffing label advances to pursue his career independently, he demonstrated a self-reliant streak on releases such as his 2017 EP Game Over, whose “Question Time,” a scathing attack on Theresa May’s Conservative government, garnered him an Ivor Novello songwriting award. Dave’s full-length debut, the Mercury Prize winner Psychodrama, followed in 2019; epitomizing his achingly honest rap style, it laid bare personal vulnerabilities while challenging institutional racism in a provocative fashion rarely heard in British rap. The centerpiece of the lavishly soundscaped album was “Black,” a heart-wrenching portrait of the prejudice affronting Black lives. At the 2020 BRIT Awards, where Psychodrama won Album of the Year, Dave started his performance of “Black” by accompanying himself on piano and ended it by excoriating British Prime Minister Boris Johnson as a “real racist” and executing a perfect mic drop. - Apple Music Central Cee Central Cee is proving himself to be one of London’s most exciting emerging artists. Whilst only just turning 22, the rapper had already released a slew of solid tracks in addition to a powerful Next Up Freestyle on Mixtape Madness reflecting the rising star’s versatility and distinctive delivery. Building on this foundation, in 2020, Central Cee has gone from strength to strength dropping two singles ‘Day In A Life’ and ‘Molly’, with both tracks having racked up 8 million audio streams collectively. The heat surrounding Central Cee along with some killer short freestyle videos showcasing Central Cee’s lyrical abilities has led to him doubling his instagram following in a matter of months (currently 135K). He’s also gained support from various artists at home and abroad including a co-sign from US rapper Big Sean. Music has been an integral part of Central Cee’s upbringing, dating back to the tender age of 8. His eagerness to create his own musical legacy is deeply rooted within his earliest memories of absorbing the rich sounds of his dad's old school hip hop collection. - Spotify Top 100 Chart History Dave 2017 51 Wanna Know (feat. Born in 1993, London-based songwriter/producer Fred John Philip Gibson treats his electro and rave-inspired songs as diary entries. But the artist, who performs under the name Fred Again.., doesn’t limit the subject matter to himself. On albums like 2021’s Actual Life (April 14 - December 17 2020) and its sequel, Actual Life 2 (February 2 - October 15 2021), Fred invited his friends into the studio to record their personal stories and then sprinkled them throughout the album. (The obvious exception was an epic Kodak Black sample on “Kahan (Last Year)”.) The songwriter has also worked with stars such as Eminem and Ed Sheeran, but Fred’s longest collaboration is with his brothers, whom he shares his tracks with before they’re released. “It’s such a blessing to work with both of my brothers,” Fred explained in an interview with Apple Music. “I’ll spend hours and hours working on a tune, and they’ll hear it how I will, but without all the baggage. They bring a fresh ear.” - Apple Music Obongjayar Steven Umoh, known by his stage name Obongjayar, is a Nigerian musical artist based in London. September 1, 20233 yr i get why they dont but i think jack should simply explain acr to the public so they know why dua dropped so hard instead of acting shocked about it like he could simply be like 'after a certain time songs recieve acr, which simply means half their sales count to make the chart fresher' that is a simple explanation so people have some sort of idea
September 1, 20233 yr Great to see Burna Boy getting his first #1 album! (A first for any African artist? bar technicalities like Freddie Mercury) Also quite impressive that Travis Scott's album is still in the top 5. (Thank the lord Ashnikko dropped out xx) I predicted Dua dropping to #15 :cheeseblock: 3-3-2-1-15 kind of ikonek tbh
September 1, 20233 yr Author 12 | | 1st week Miley Cyrus Used To Be Young 4th single from Endless Summer Vacation Released: 25th August 2023 Label: Smiley Miley Chart Statistics NE (07/09/2023) | 12 Sales: - Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 00 Sales 00 Audio Streaming 00 Video Streaming Video IZ3XMOdOdKM Biography “I think there’s a time in every artist’s life [when] they have to do something that isn’t for fans, isn’t for success, isn’t for touring,” Miley Cyrus told Apple Music in 2018. Cyrus could’ve been speaking about any number of moments from her profoundly varied career. Born Destiny Hope Cyrus—the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus—in Tennessee in 1992, the innovative artist has hardly stayed in one lane for more than a single album since she broke from the bubblegum pop that catapulted her to stardom as Disney’s Hannah Montana. Her 2009 summer anthem “Party In the U.S.A.” earned her a rapid ascent within the pop world, where 2013’s Bangerz—which showcased her musical maturity with “Wrecking Ball” and experimented with elements of Dirty South hip-hop—made her an icon. Vocal about her pansexuality and love for marijuana, Cyrus has worked hard to shed her wholesome teen image, and simultaneously defied odds by earning a reputation for an intense work ethic and an unshakable self-assuredness. She headed to left-field with the psych-tinged 2015 album Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, a collaboration with members of The Flaming Lips, and with 2017’s Younger Now, a countrified pop offering that featured godmother Dolly Parton. And she's teamed up with rappers Mike Will Made It and will.i.am, Sarah Barthel of electronic rock group Phantogram, and, in 2018, Mark Ronson for the dramatic hit single “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart.” Those frequent partnerships have been major catalysts in the creation of Cyrus' diverse catalog and in the cementing of her status as a pop pace-setter by refusing to let it, or herself, be easily defined. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2007 43 The Best Of Both Worlds (Hannah Montana) -OST- 2008 11 See You Again -1- 2008 25 7 Things -1- 2009 16 Fly On The Wall -2- 2009 11 The Climb -OST- 2009 18 Hoedown Throwdown -OST- 2009 78 Butterfly Fly Away -OST- 2009 90 Ice Cream Freeze (Let's Chill) (Hannah Montana) -OST- 2009 11 Party In The USA -1- MILLIONAIRE 2010 79 When I Look At You -2- 2010 13 Can't Be Tamed -1- 2010 93 Ordinary Girl (Hannah Montana) -OST- 2013 34 Fall Down (will.i.am feat. September 1, 20233 yr Author 11 | 11 | 3rd week Olivia Rodrigo bad idea right? 2nd single from GUTS Released: 11th August 2023 Label: Olivia Rodrigo Chart Statistics NE (24/08/2023) | 6-11-11 Sales: 20k+ Certification: - Status: Standard Chart Ratio 21 Sales 07 Audio Streaming 08 Video Streaming Video Dj9qJsJTsjQ Biography A few weeks after Olivia Rodrigo’s “drivers license” became the biggest song in the world, Saturday Night Live ran a sketch that featured a bunch of middle-aged guys shooting pool in a dive bar. One puts “drivers license” on the jukebox. Another complains that it just sounds like a teenage girl sitting alone at a piano. By the end of their discourse, they’re all in tears, singing along. “I was driving around my neighborhood listening to really sad songs, like, crying in the car,” Rodrigo told Apple Music. “And I got home and I was like, ‘Maybe I’ll write a song about this: crying in the car.’” Rodrigo had tapped into a universal experience: The middle-aged guys weren’t teenage girls, but they’d also driven around listening to sad songs. Rodrigo was just 17 when the song came out, but she had been getting ready for years. Born in Temecula, California, in 2003, she started lessons in piano, voice, and acting as a child, and went on to star in Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. But, really, what could prepare you for breaking the global single-week streaming record for a female artist? Especially on your first single? And getting a nod from Taylor Swift in the meantime? (Along with “drivers license” winning the Apple Music Award for Top Song of the Year in 2021, Rodrigo’s debut LP, SOUR, was the Top Album of the Year and Rodrigo herself was named Breakthrough Artist of the Year.) Like Swift—and Lorde, too—Rodrigo has a knack for conjuring big feelings through small details: an ex singing along to their Billy Joel with his new love (“deja vu”), reading his self-help books “so you’d think that I was smart” (“enough for you”). Her content is all-caps, but her delivery is lowercase, lacing bedroom pop with a vulnerability and anger rare for teen pop: “Where’s my f***ing teenage dream?” she wonders on “brutal.” “I’m the biggest emo drama queen,” Rodrigo tells Apple Music. Maybe. But the key to letting it out is keeping it together. - Apple Music Top 100 Chart History 2020 32 All I Want -OST- 2021 01 drivers license -1- MILLIONAIRE 2021 04 deja vu -2- 2021 01 good 4 u -3- MILLIONAIRE 2021 05 traitor -4- 2021 17 favorite crime -AT- 2021 36 jealousy, jealousy -AT- 2023 02 vampire -1- 2023 06 bad idea right? -2- 2 x #1 | 5 x Top 5 | 6 x Top 10 | 7 x Top 20 | 9 x Top 40 | 9 x Top 100 Social Media Olivia Rodrigo http://i.imgur.com/1SERq1f.png
