Out of all the good dance songs, some that have even failed to chart in the chart at all, very confused as to how this is challenging for number one

I think the synth melody is really good - it draws you in and makes the song memorable. Catchy chorus, relatable but not basic lyrics. D&B elements are very in at the moment. And there's been a lack of the "mellow or introspective banger" in the charts.

I'm totally here for this mainstream breakthrough we've been having recently for talented female producers

I believe Kenya wrote and produced the song herself and there's only 2 others credited for "additional production"

I don't think her success is that hard to understand when translating it to a chart impact. Half a million followers on Instagram and TikTok each (plus 8 million likes on TikTok) confirms a strong social media presence.

Hot Hits UK (Spotify) and Today's Hits (Apple) also supporting this giving it high profile playlisting on streaming and it's very high on both respective daily charts. Over 3 million views on YouTube too!

I love the "uh huh, uh huh" parts, they make this for me!

I'm finding this a really nice listen whenever I hear it, but not something I have the will to out of my way and listen to. At least not yet, that may change.

Don't you famously hate PinkPantheress? This sounds nearly identical to her style to me.

Also don't think this is a surprising hit at all, this sound is very much on trend (see also venbee).

I find it kinda mesmerizing and very addictive

and also the best quality, you never get tired of it

i've listened to the 1-hour youtube on a loop a few times

and thats not something i'd do with a lot of songs

I think it has much better vocals and production than the output of PP, and sounds like an actual song rather a jingle.

Holds its midweek position of #3 today. I really hope it can go further but still amazing nonetheless

This is making some gains in the US now, just outside the Hot 100 (#10 on Bubbling Under this week)

it's drum n' bass which is a dance subgenre, so fair to have it in this subforum

pleasing to see it crack the US and perhaps likely to be a future UK #1 now

This is... ok. It's a bit too "chill" for me, but I like it. I feel like Tinashe did this kind of Drum and Bass sound on a couple of her tracks better on her last album. But this is a cute bop.
heading for #1 this week as doja goes to acr! hoping she makes it, its such a bop! loving it currently
