December 7, 20231 yr I definitely would have given DJ Shadow some points too if I remembered him. Shakin' Stevens music is tacky but fun, although 'Merry Christmas Everyone' is really strong for a Christmas classic.
December 8, 20231 yr Little Richard might be the greatest artist ever to never have had a UK #1 hit. He was ridiculously talented as a singer, songwriter and pianist, his performance style was very dynamic, he had a unique gritty voice and he was very influential in the early development of rock ‘n’ roll. For me he’s the most important artist to have appeared in this thread yet.

December 8, 20231 yr Mike Oldfield *.* ooft the first from my top 10 to drop out! The Tubular Bells album is fantastic  away from his (mostly) instrumental stuff I love the likes of 'Moonlight Shadow' and 'Man In The Rain'

December 8, 20231 yr Ah finally I lose someone again now! Billy Idol has some really fab songs 'White Wedding', 'Eyes Without A Face' & 'Rebel Yell'. Was great seeing him at Download in 2015. He still had it! I do like 'Moonlight Shadow' from Mike Oldfield but not much else I've heard of his.
December 8, 20231 yr Awww I would have given Marc Almond more points. Even outside of Soft Cell he's done loads of great stuff - and I saw him in Pizza Express once! :P Lol, myself and Jade only giving Mike Oldfield points. Do love a bit of 'Tubular Bells'.
December 8, 20231 yr A few good shouts today - Mike Oldfield and Jamie T especially! 'Language' by Porter Robinson is my favourite song by a male solo artist of all time  but not really representative of the signature sound he's more known for these days which I've found to be quite hit or miss.

December 9, 20231 yr Liam and Gerry! Two Reading & Leeds 2024 headliners there. It'll be interesting to see how well Gerry's next single does, it'll by almost 4 years since his second album by then!
December 9, 20231 yr Favourites from Gerry: 'Where We're Going', 'Canter', 'Sometimes' - those being in the chart doesn't seem as long ago as they actually were.
December 9, 20231 yr So !!! was the other Serge voter! Histoire de Melody Nelson is a genius concept album that was pretty much proto trip-hop and inspired some legendary names in that field  'Je T'aime... Moi Non Plus' is one of my favourite 60s chart toppers also
December 9, 20231 yr Plan B would be my favourite from today's lot, shame he seemed to largely vanish after 'ill Manors' but that and 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' were both great albums. Liam Gallagher has had a few decent solo songs but largely not stacking up to the Oasis discography. Sean Paul has bops too ofc x (actually just looked up Plan B and I totally forgot he released an album in 2018 which made the top 5 and even had (just barely) a top 100 single - I do remember the single 'First Past The Post' from 2019 though which seems to have been his last release to date)
December 9, 20231 yr I quite liked Plan B's faux-Jamaican comeback single a few years ago. 6v6LbhJ67cQ
