Agreed, I thought it was gonna smash from my first listen! I'm not sure why it hasn't connected properly with the public, it's got all the ingredients for a smash to my ears. I'm still hopeful it will pick up after Christmas and become a long-running top ten hit but I'm becoming less and less certain of that after seeing it tumble down the Spotify chart :(

Wow, quite the takeover for still mid-November for Christmas! Looks like almost the same order as last year, not sure how much Spotify has rearranged the top playlists, probably not by much at all.

 

Houdini is great, but it seems like the disco sound seems to do better than the more electro leaning stuff for Dua Lipa. Physical, while a top three hit, feels like one of the least visible singles from Future Nostalgia. I hope it hangs around though and picks up again after Christmas. And I'm glad she didn't stick rigidly to disco!

Houdini is great but think Dua needed something stronger

when you've had a huge second album you need a killer lead for album 3

like Harry Styles with As it Was, Ed with Divide or Adele with Hello
