December 1, 20232 yr Author Jax Jones being A-listed after 7 weeks on the B-list is a bit random :unsure: There does seem to be a growing trend lately of keeping songs on the B-list for a long time, although that could be down to the fact that there's not many big releases at this time of year. I'm liking the idea of the Sleigh List!

December 1, 20232 yr Yay for A Little Sound, though I am a bit surprised they’re getting behind this when it doesn’t look like becoming even a small hit - yes that’s not the only factor but with commercial dance songs they don’t tend to get on board until it’s in the chart. Arielle and Dean/Vicky had her as TOTW though so I’m assuming the song got a good reaction hence why it’s here. The playlist in general is looking very bloated at the minute and it’s likely to only get worse heading into the new year, it’s times like these when I think of the playlist in Jan 2022 when the A-list had several songs on for 10 weeks plus. Bring Me The Horizon not making the A-list must be a rarity?
December 1, 20232 yr Author Not particularly: of the 7 singles previous to this one, only 4 made the A-list (although 9 of the previous 10 to that one made the A-list, so they're clearly past their peak, support-wise).
December 2, 20232 yr Can’t believe they are acknowledging a Sleigh List - love it 😁 Always went on each December and counted which Xmas songs the played most to see if any lost rotation on the ‘youth’ bbc station and they always played newer Xmas songs like Anne Marie!

December 4, 20232 yr Teddy Swims and Paul Russell feel rather out of date. I get they're having "second winds" meaning their popularity has increased recently but they're effectively summer songs. Vick even acknowledged Lil Boo Thang being a 'song of the summer'.
December 7, 20232 yr It does appear that the 'Sleigh List' is replacing their usual output of classic Christmas tracks. I don't think I've heard any this week when I've tuned in (or they're playing fewer of them at least).
December 7, 20232 yr "Stop (Askin' Me)" shouldn't be on the Sleigh List. It released in August and the only reference to Christmas is the opening lyric stating that "It ain't even Christmas and it ain't your birthday"! :lol: And it ain't your birthda
