I was half expecting Wham! to pass 3 million but surpassing the Adele record is impressive regardless.

Dean Martin of all people going top five all of a sudden on Christmas Day really shows how many people rely on the Spotify ready-made playlists though (see also Brenda Lee surpassing Mariah just as she did last year) and boo at The Pogues slipping down a bit although at least they still hung on to top ten. The Ronettes and Darlene Love getting a new peak are at least some pluses of the Americanised playlists I guess.

Cher so close to passing a million streams though agh *.* Bodes well for the song returning strongly next year at least.

Not The Killers going top 10 for Non-Christmas this year now and Marvin Gaye of all people surviving Christmas Day too. Noah Kahan still comfortably top 100 is great though, he could very well spend the entirety of January at #1 if nothing big comes out anytime soon.

Relevant bop :music: Andrew Sisters officially the most relevant and the biggest girl band on streaming right now!!!

The whole Top 30 surpassing a million streams each :cheeseblock:

Shows how widely streaming services dominate now!

Kinda annoyed no one surpassed 3m but breaking the record is decent!

Also at Cher nearly breaking a million on SCR!

Dean Martin up to #4 is crazy. Looking good for the Ronettes to go top 20 officially this year tho.

I wonder if the relatively average streams for Ariana will cost her a shot at the top 10.

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough somehow surviving the Christmas onslaught is not something I’d have predicted either.

Thanks for the highest daily streams table Jim, do you know what the next highest non-Christmas song is? It’s not still Shape of You is it? I know that had a remix that did quite well when it was doing a million plus daily streams

Fascinating numbers but let's not forget that Christmas streams are and will always be a different story, Just look at Alexa reporting 10 million in a Christmas week and very little portion of streams outside the season. They are not comparable to any new music released throughout the year.

They can indicate the overall growth in streaming though. What's the increase year-on-year, 20%?

Wonder if Dean Martin would of been even higher if Frank sinatra version wasn't so high
78 76 The Waitresses – Christmas Wrapping 386,864

79 93 Vince Guaraldi Trio – Christmas Time Is Here 376,568 [*PEAK*]

the two best christmas tunes back to back *.*

The next highest daily streams for a non-Christmas song are 1,729,543 for 'Easy On Me' day two, but the next highest peak day is for Three Lions on 11/07/2021: 1,472,625 or 1,720,898 combined with the '98 version - after that it is 'Shape Of You' for which I have a peak of 1.467m combined with the remix on 03/04/2017 (album release day), or 1,322,199 alone on 09/01/2017 (original release), just ahead of the 1,295,532 for 'Sprinter' on 05/06/2023.

Think you're right about Ariana btw, I'd already written off the Top 10 for her this year, and despite a promising First Look I'm fairly sure Bublé and Andy Williams, and maybe even Dean Martin have overtaken with Jorja and Noah still in contention to hold their Top 10 places.

I don’t know anyone whose favourite Christmas song is Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree. I’m surprised it does ~so~ well every year

Oh all this ancient, boomer easy listening playlist crap is so tedious - Bobby Helms, Brenda Lee, Dean Martin, Ronettes..all of them bore me senseless.

Hope Ariana can go top 10 officially and Sam does get no.1. Let's hear it for the young ones!

Hope Wham's streaming numbers are enough to stop Sam Ryder manipulating charts with Amazon.

It would be stupid to see Sam #01 when Wham! got the streaming records this week in UK.

As I already said, kinda disappointing to see Adele's incredible record lost to people just sticking on a curated playlist in the background all day but whatever.
I see it differently - quite happy for the record to be a song that’s popular year in year out and not something massively hyped that lost more than a million plays on Day 2.

THIS!!! Brenda does so well due to old people and American crooner playlists. The song is boring af, but not as bad as Let It Snow anf the male crooners though.
