Norman Cook has charted under his own name, as Fatboy Slim and as part of the Housemartins, Freakpower and Beats International.

He’s also never charted under his birth name-Quentin.

No, the album those singles were from is called J-Lo and she never called herself that as her artist name.

Yes she's only ever been Jennifer Lopez as an artist name, J-Lo on some of her artworks is similar to Kylie Minogue, who has been simply "Kylie" on her album covers for a long time but has never actually dropped the surname for her proper artist name!

All Saints initially charted as All Saints 1.9.7.5. with a #92 hit called Silver Shadow three years before they broke through with the shortened name. At the time, the line-up didn't feature the Appleton sisters, instead featuring Simone Rainford alongside Shaznay and Mel.

Has 2Pac / Makaveli been mentioned?

Janet Jackson was officially just Janet at one point. Not sure if it qualifies though as it's not exactly a different name..

And speaking of the Jacksons, The Jackson 5 became The Jacksons later.

I was looking at the Spotify charts and saw Stay Another Day and it reminded me that East 17 had an alternate name, E-17.

Florence & The Machine was just ‘Florence Welch’ on her Calvin Harris collab Sweet Nothing

Dixie Chicks / The Chicks

‘Years & Years’ is both the name of a band, and now the stage name for now-soloist Olly Alexander

Didn't Cliff Richard once have a go at releasing an R&B single under some kind of alias to see if radio stations would play it if they didn't know it was him? I can't remember what the alias was or whether the single charted.
You're probably thinking of this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Can%27t_Keep_this_Feeling_In

It was only sent to radio under the alias though; it was then released under his own name (and charted at #10).

I remember another one, Lady Antebellum are now Lady A. I don't think they've been in the charts since then, but maybe one of their Christmas songs will make it one day lol.

Florence + The Machine is a group!

Olly Alexander has only ever charted under the Y&Y name though.

Timex Social Club was known as The Social Club on the BBC due to advertising restrictions.
To avoid confusion with the British folk group The Spinners, the US soul group The Spinners were called The Detroit Spinners , however their first hit was under the name The Motown Spinners - also in 1995 I'll Be Around was sampled on I'll Be Around by Rappin 4-Tay featuring The Spinners , their original name so 3 different names for the same act.

Roy Wood/Wizzard (& various label related featurings)/The Move/ELO

Jeff Lynne/ELO/The Move/Traveling Wilburys

John Lennon/Plastic Ono band/ John & Yoko & Harlem Community Choir/Beatles

Paul McCartney/ Wings/Beatles also not charted as The Fireman and charted as part of multi-artist charity chart-toppers

George harrison/Beatles/Traveling Wilburys

Ringo Starr/Beatles

Mick jagger/ Rolling Stones

Michael jackson/ jackson 5/jacksons/The Simpsons/Rockwell

Godley & Creme/10CC/Hotlegs

I don't think a lot of the above ones work. Ringo Starr is not the same artist as The Beatles. If we were allowing this then there are countless examples of singers who have charted solo as well as in a band. I'm pretty sure this isn't what the OP was asking for?

Yeah, they don't work  I was thinking more of it being the exact same artist - so a solo artist, or a band with the same line-up - but charting with different names!

Also Rockwell is decidedly not the same as Michael Jackson :kink: that was just an uncredited feature.
