Later than anticipated, but here is the much awaited collection of the year that is MCMXCVIII, otherwise referred to as 1998. Google was founded, Titanic dominated cinemas, the first ever mp3 players

  • The latest ‘Buzzjack Presents’ edition returns once more to the heavier side of the music scene, focusing this time on ‘90s Rock and era which required a huge amount of severe editing of choice cuts.

We have many new projects coming soon.

As always, if anyone would like to work with us on a compilation/artwork, drop us a line....

I really should finish the one I started about 2 years ago!!

The synth pop one?

Yes! I feel like it was about 90% of the way there, although possibly needs an update for a couple of more recent songs

I will create a compilation on the best speed garage around in 97/98. Don't know whether all the material is available on spotify, but I got all relevant stuff in my single-CD collection and may upload it to mixcloud otherwise. 😉

I thought garage was more 1999-2002 but do as you will!

Speed garage was the precursor of it heavily inspired by jungle but with a 4 to the floor beat. The most famous thing was the Armand van Helden Remix of "Professional Widow". Other great charting tunes were 187 Lockdown "Gunman", Double 99 "Ripgroove", Kathy Brown "Turn To Sugar", Serious Danger "Deeper" and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels "People Hold On". I will create something.

Garage 99-2002 would be a good one too so we could get the big hits on there as well as the more underground stuff. It could even be extended to 2008 to add Heartbroken and What's It Gonna Be from the mini revival. Happy for 97/98 speed garage as a precursor to that though.

We've also got a few more year albums due (including 2025 which I'm slacking on). And some other fun projects but always open to ideas as Colm says.

I'm looking forward to the Podium 2025.

(to see the couple of bangers, one on PFSC and one on BJSC hehehe)

Oh it's coming too! I've presented the draft to @Colm and @gooddelta to make any final edits, so it will certainly be coming very soon!

I am going to present 1990. Will need a bit of further screening, but I have a sufficient number of songs to choose from. Unfortunately one #2 is not available on spotify (Gazza & Lindisfarne - Fog on the Tyne), but everything else is there. 1990 was a special year for me as I started listening to music in 1989 and this was my first full year. When I have a first version ready who would like to review my selection?

Great. We will be happy to pass a judgemental eye over it 😁
