I know there is not long to go but Biden should stand down. There is no point him being there. He can barely walk and talk and now he has stated he’s done. He might as well go now. Let’s see how Kamala does as President for a few months.

Totally agree. He may as well go now. Let her go in to the election as sitting President. If she lost she wouldn't even be the shortest serving as one died in the 1800's after just a month in office.

It won't be Harris that is president Americans don't seem to like the idea of a women in charge.
Let's not forget Hillary was never particularly popular, had an awful lot of baggage and years of history and was up against a rising populism that many were underestimating and was new and energised against an incumbent government that was weak and unconvincing. Kamala's gender (sadly) may well put off voters, but I don't think it's in any way a done deal simply because of that. It really does depend on a myriad of factors.

William Henry Harrison back in 1841. He is also notable for being part of (to date) the only grandfather and grandson to serve as President. Benjamin Harrison 1889-1893.

Clinton's basket of deplorables remark did her no good either.

Thanks. Couldn't remember the name. Think he died of a heart attack.

Biden will be the first one-term President since Trump and before that George HW Bush in 1992. Before that it was Carter who lost to Reagan in 1980.

The last one to decide not to seek a second term was Johnson in 1968. Most seek a second term and win one too.

As Sky News are saying, one thing about Kamala being the nominee is she's already been vetted, to become VP. Anyone else, including Michelle, needs strict vetting and that takes weeks. Even a minor motoring offence years ago puts an end to it. Tax avoidance, anything at all.

And yet Trump can do anything he wants!!

So Biden will be the first one term president since the last guy then

I have to say Kamala is impressing me so far and her campaign is barely out the gate  Her speech at her 1st campaign rally in Milwaukee a couple days ago was great! I'm feeling cautiously optimistic that she may actually be able to win.

It's all going to come down to this immigration parrot certain elements are parroting. Biden wasn't particularly strong on it and not sure Harris did a great job (although pretty thankless task). It's an easy rhetoric for Trump to play in to, and we're seeing Reform play the same trick over here too, so will be interesting to see if it works in the US this year as clearly that's where we're heading in the UK too.

And yet Trump can do anything he wants!!

Surely he'd have been vetted in 2016 though?

my first thought too haha

Come on brats, let's get to work

Kamala's said to be risingh in the polls now and only a point or two behind Trump. This could be very close. Interesting few months ahead now.

Hillary won the popular vote and it wasn't a Trump landslide. Kamala could just do it. Imagine how Trump would feel. Not just losing but to a woman! He's seething with anger with her now it seems.

Trump pulls out of debating with Kamala and she responds:

JD Vance, Trump's pick for VP, has recently said about taking away voting power from those without children:

@1816492112713818382

Trump's VP pick is doing a great job at being an utter ...... Should hopefully help mobilise voting towards Kamala from those who are undecided.
