Katy Perry was right, it is a woman’s world! ( :kink: )
Mad that divide has sold more in 2024 alone than his latest album total

Top 8 albums to make their chart debut this year - and to reach 100,000 2024 sales - now by female soloists, as Sabrina reaches the 100,000 mark before Eminem and Teddy Swims.
Would be interesting a chart on just those released this year

Do you guys think there's a reason why women are dominating the 2024 releases. Like is it because they have more fans who will buy physicals. Or is it just a coincidence?

Like the top 7 2024 albums being all by women would be a 1 in 128 (???) chance if it was purely random. And actually probably less because I think there are probably more males signed to major record labels.

I mean “Stick Season” is doing big numbers this year and still in the weekly Top 20. It may not have been released in 2024 but I can’t quite see why that’s significant if it’s outdoing most of what was, and has well outlasted 3 of those 7 solo female albums in question.

Benson and Teddy will surely be in a position to do big numbers whenever they release their next albums too.

So yes I think that particular statistic is a coincidence, but it’s also true that the solo females are doing very well in the pop market at the moment.

Think Chappell & Sabrina are heading for top 10 eventually maybe Charli can too especially with the remix version coming. Surprised Noah has done so well it was a very good album but only one song really was a hit

Homesick and Northern Attitude say hello, and three hits really is the best position to be in for an album (given the top 2's streams get downweighted)

Dial Drunk and You're Gonna Go Far have bubbled away lower down for a while too so he's clearly performing consistently with the full album.

I agree - at least 4 hits for Noah! I was hoping to see Fleetwood Mac reach the top 5 - but Oasis are now coming to overtake them. Finally some 2024(ish) albums by male artists passing the 100,000 mark. And looking forward to Linkin Park making the top 40 (though unfortunately at the expense of George Michael.)

he's actually had 5 top 40 hits from the album and 9 top 100, lol at someone thinking he just had 1 hit

Dial Drunk/32

Call Your Mum/83

Stick Season/1

She calls me back/95

Northern Attitude/16

You’re gonna go Far/60

Everywhere everything/72

Homesick/5

Forever/31

Dial Drunk is also a lot bigger than the #32 peak suggests - it stands a decent chance of making the singles year end this year

Great for Sabrina - she'll be top 10 in a couple of weeks! Think she'll easily finish in the year end Top 5
Hooray for Linkin Park going gold and hitting the top 40, but sad that they’ve knocked out George Michael.
Teenage drama doing 100k this year alone Katy could only dream of those sales withe her recent material
