The team have done well this week with the string of songs played between Perfect to Feather. :music:

Bored of Asking now though.

Was there any need to play this garbage.

On a more positive note, well done Shed Seven!

Not Kool-Aid being skipped

probably because of these lyrics

I got my (hands around your throat, I love the way you choke)

'Cause I am yours and you are mine, I'll never let you go

My hands around your throat, I love the way you choke

'Cause I am yours and you are mine, I'll never let you go

I guess its been far too many great songs in a row that we needed a shit one x

Up there with the absolute worst songs of last year, those vocals go right through me and the entire song is just irritating, hopefully this will make a swift return to ACR!

Biography

Sometimes Mitski feels life would be easier without hope or a soul or love. But when she closes her eyes and thinks about what’s truly hers, what can’t be repossessed or demolished, she sees love. “The best thing I ever did in my life was to love people,” she says. “I wish I could leave behind all the love I have after I die, so I can shine all this goodness, all this love that I’ve created onto other people.” She hopes her newest album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, will shine love long after she’s gone. That’s precisely how it feels: like a love that’s haunting the land. “This is my most American album,” she says. The music feels like a profound act of witnessing this country, in all its private sorrows and contradictions. Sonically Mitski’s most epic and wise album, it introduces wounds and then actively heals them. Here, love is time-traveling to bless our tender days, like light from a distant star. It's full of the ache of the grown-up, seemingly mundane heartbreaks and joys that are often unsung but feel enormous. It’s a tiny epic. From the bottom of a glass, to a driveway slushy with memory and snow, to a freight train barreling through the Midwest, all the way to the moon, it feels like everything and everyone is crying out in pain, arching towards love. Love is that inhospitable land, beckoning and then rejecting us. To love this place, this earth, this America, this body takes work. It might be impossible. The best things are. - Spotify

Biography

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher achieved both fame and notoriety as the lead singer of Oasis, the band who practically defined Brit-pop in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Gallagher began stepping out of the shadow of his brother Noel (the songwriter who penned most of Oasis' hits), contributing original tunes to the band beginning with the 2003 single "Songbird." The siblings split in 2009, leading Liam to take the remaining members of Oasis and form Beady Eye. Once that group ran its course, Gallagher launched a solo career in 2017 with As You Were, a number one hit in the U.K. Sophomore LP Why Me? Why Not. also topped the British charts, and he followed with an MTV Unplugged set, issued in 2020. 2022 brought the simultaneous release of a third studio album, C'Mon You Know, and another live album, River [Live from Down by the River Thames}. - Apple Music

John Squire

Jonathan Thomas "John" Squire (born 24 November 1962) is an English musician, songwriter and painter. He was the guitarist for the Stone Roses, a rock band in which he formed a songwriting partnership with lead singer Ian Brown. After leaving the Stone Roses he went on to found The Seahorses and has since released two solo albums. In 2007, Squire gave up music to fully commit to painting. However, he later returned to music when the Stone Roses reformed in 2011. When the Stone Roses disbanded for a second time in 2017 Squire once again returned to painting. However, he continues to play guitar occasionally, including making guest appearances for two shows with Liam Gallagher at Knebworth in 2022, before they decided to release the collaboration studio album, which first single "Just Another Rainbow" released on 5 January 2024. Squire has been described as one of the most accomplished and influential British rock guitarists of the late 1980s and early 1990s, known for his chiming melodies, spiraling riffs and live solos. He was voted the 13th greatest guitarist of the last 30 years in a national poll by BBC 6 Music in 2010. - Wikipedia

Yikes - almost identical to they lyrics in 'One of The Girls'.

Barely a song has been played today where I've not thought "wouldn't it be better if Last Dinner Party were here instead of this"

Also finding it weird that R1, who usually support BMTH quite well, either still haven't got a clean version of Kool Aid or are just choosing to skip? It's their biggest hit for a while.

John Squire's work with The Seahorses ignored - despite me liking more of their songs then The Stone Roses! :(

Liam's voice is at its most unpleasant in this, glad it ended up well short of the top 10 in the end.

(also not that huge on Sam and Danni oop, give us Gregor pls x)

I actually like the big bassy sound in this.
