By what measure is it more successful than 'Tension' itself?

I'd still regard Tension the song as being more successful than Dance Alone.

 

I'd say this tells the story more clearly than Spotify stream counts:

 

Tension vs Dance Alone

#46 vs Did Not Chart - Australia

#34 vs Did Not Chart - Ireland

This - and I think a lot more causal Kylie fans know/like Tension too, plus it seems to be for now a song that she’ll have in her sets.

Tension was way more successful than Dance Alone and is also 100 times over the better song.

Whilst Tension is a better song for me, no denying that DA and the Sia name has made her connect to a biradar audience. I still hear DA at the supermarket and the gym in between Taylor and Sabrina. Plus, it kind of looks like those inoffensive tunes that’ll get 40-50K streams a day for a long long time .

 

Kylie is a smart businesswoman if nothing else.

I've genuinely never heard this once anywhere in the wild, not even in a gay club where you'd expect it's more likely to be played than anywhere else.
