'Peace Of Mind' coming last is a pretty fair result (I would've controversially preferred 'Bones' at the bottom tho...). 'Shadowplay' is decent but not particularly interesting, perhaps it deserved to be a bit higher!
Love the Joy Division original 'Shadowplay', but this version is just too safe and doesn't really add anything to it.
That version of Shadowplay is painful by comparison to the original

Land Of The Free spoke out against gun violence and President Trump’s proposed border wall. In a Facebook post, Flowers said the lyrics date back to the aftermath of the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting. “As a father I’ll never fully comprehend what that community and those parents went through,” he wrote. “But my church upbringing taught me to mourn with those that mourn and I did it the best way that I knew how. I cried for those kids and teachers. I got on my knees and I prayed for those families.”

Rut is the third and final single from the band’s fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful. In an episode of the Song Exploder podcast on October 6, 2017, Brandon Flowers explained that the lyrics of Rut were inspired by his wife, Tana Mundkowsky, who struggles with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) due to a traumatizing childhood. "The song is from my wife's point of view, and it's from her perspective. And it's about resilience. So, she's singing to me. It's almost like this submission, it's her accepting like, 'I'm facing this thing'", Flowers said. The pitch on Flowers' vocals was altered to make his voice sound more feminine.

The song was released as the fourth single from the band's third studio album, Day & Age. The Killers performed the song live on The Late Show with David Letterman accompanied by an orchestra in 2009. The song's lyrics focus upon frontman Brandon Flowers' parents, referring to "Cinderella" (his mother) and a "slick chrome American prince" (his father). In 2021, a re-recorded version was released featuring Bruce Springsteen.
No real losses so far. I was putting together a Killers/Brandon playlist earlier this evening and none of those made it so…
Yeh none of the songs above are big losses and I have to remind myself how they go!
Rut is about 9 spots too low  The rest feel about right. I liked World as a kid but I can’t say I’ve listened to it in a looong time

The song is featured on the 2007 compilation album Sawdust and was written by Brandon Flowers. It won Best International Alternative/Indie Track at NME's first ever USA awards. It was featured in a trailer for the fifth and final season of HBO's original series Boardwalk Empire. The video features Flowers wandering around an empty house. Somewhere in the house is Lou Reed, sitting at a piano. Flowers sings the song, including Reed's parts, making it look like he has been possessed. Intercut with this are shots of the rest of the band in a darkly lit, red room, around a table, apparently performing a seance. The video ends with Flowers finding and pointing at Reed, singing his outro.
