I feel like the label kind of hurt him getting another big hit as it seemed streaming services were split between "Cry" and "Slow It Down". The latter is still top 10 on Amazon (#7), but "Cry" has started rising there the last week (#15). If they fully push "Slow It Down" I think it should make the top 10 fairly easily post-Taylor. Then push "Cry" for another top 20/40 hit.

Cry was never anything more then the album's focus track upon release, there's been no whiff of it being released. It's just Apple who have been lagging on supporting Slow It Down, not adding it to Today's Hits until the last day or so :drama: at least it's there now. Would need to pick up a bit on Spotify again to go top 10 officially, I'd just like a top 20 peak!

Is the Hozier track really as popular as 900k streams in a day or would it be fair to assume auto play has played a major part?

(Genuinely curious. I still don't think I've heard the track )

I don’t think tracks get as many streams daily because of auto play, it’s clearly popular!

You can see autoplay cos suddenly songs get 100K down on a day where all other songs are stable like from Wed to Thu

Djo and Benson had lots recently

I actually get Hozier on autoplay but guess it's normal for me cos I do listen to him regularly so cannot really say it it's payola

While I’m sure autoplay exists it seems more placebo. Sometimes songs just reach their sell by date not everything reduces gradually. Hozier was always going to do big streams it’s the perfect replay value song. It could well hit a million
I can see worshipping Taylor become uncool among the youth fairly soon, but whether it's with this album or later remains to be seen.

They can all go, we'll be fine, her long long time fans. They will move from one artist to another every 2 years anyway, we see what is happening with Dua now with her 3rd album, or second album of Olivia or Billie's (Still, decent success but FAR from their debut)

poor Dua, a flop album already even if we're weeks ago from the release, she should totally cancel :D

Well if you’re doing 700k-800k on average normally… autoplay helping to get over 900k isn’t such an odd concept.
How come Hozier just dropped a whole 100k from yesterday? A bit weird…
  It will have something to do with taylors team sabotaging him

Certain artists are like soft drinks, you drink the can you get a buzz then you want another one and then they make you feel sick and you need to leave it alone for awhile. Dua Lipa is like fine wine, you just have a bit now and then and it lasts awhile and you don’t get sick of it. It’s just apples and oranges. If her songs disappeared out of the top 200 I’d say flop for sure but all 3 are top 50 UK and global while Houdini has over 400 mill on Spotify. You can’t call that flopping.
that sudden 100K drop by Hozier is kinda weird

Love checking what comes on autoplay and whether is something natural or something that makes no sense

Just checked now played the Hozier Unheard EP and the first song that comes on autoplay after was this Chappell Roan

even though I had never ever played her ever before and didn't even make sense sonically

then I played a playlist of indie sad songs like Iron & Wine, Bon Iver Paolo Nuniti

and the first song that comes on autoplay after was Chappell Roan :D

If you set the bar at making the Spotify top 200 then nothing by a major artist can ever be considered an underperformance

The Dua flopping/not connecting narrative is tiring peeps, let it drop pls x

Why is it a problem to have that opinion though?

It's been bugging me for a while now. Does anyone know what 'Version Revisited' means in brackets on the track name for Mark Ronson's Valerie on Spotify and Apple Music

I'd love to have a (semi) flop era where I'm making high quality, original pop tunes with Kevin Parker and Danny L Harle (given the public's notoriously dodgy music taste, this approach should basically be chart suicide) yet she's STILL scoring hit after hit?

sounds to me like the songs are connecting.....sounds more like she's OVERperforming infact......

Think it means it’s just a revised version of the original so mark ronson added or changed something or someone did
