Great debuts for both Dua and Perrie on Spotify! Hopefully they climb today.

That Shaboozey song is dreadful.

Uhm, none of the songs in the UK top ten currently contains a famous sample (Alibi is #12). I mean if you're benchmarks are Ava Max and David Guetta, then yes.

I'm glad the era of the feature on every single seems to be over. It felt like in the early 2010s that nobody apart from Adele, Ed or Bruno Mars released anything by themselves.

That Shaboozey track is fairly clever as it represents completely different genre than J-Kwon's tipsy and is not that "in your face" sample at all even though it's familiar.

Feel like social media has been trending things this way for a while. A lot of parasocial marketing is easier to do and more effective when it's just one person, and the mythos of 'the band' feels like a struggling remnant of a different era of music consumption and discourse.

Guess I need to listen again to Shaboozey as I sought it out thinking it sampled Tipsy but then couldn't pick up on the sample at all :kink:
