May 11, 20241 yr It was always most likely that the UK would give Israel 12 points. It's not the same as having a yes/no vote on whether they support Israel, there's only one choice to support vs 24 options to not support with less motivation to do so. Plus there will be people who just liked the sound of the song and hadn't a clue about the controversy around it - I had no idea myself until I was watching the semi and Iz was explaining the original lyrics etc.
May 11, 20241 yr I'm thrilled Israel did not win and congrats to Switzerland even though I'm not a huge fan of the song. Poor Olly getting 0 in the televote which I didn't expect and fair play to France doing g well on both jury and televote. Shocked Ireland gave Israel 10 in the televote but thankfully Croatia got the 12.
May 11, 20241 yr f*** Israel and f*** the UK for giving them 12 Pretty sure the campaign via Twitter/X encouraged people to vote that didn’t even watch the show or heard the song.

Shocked Ireland gave Israel 10 in the televote but thankfully Croatia got the 12. It's the same for Ireland as it is for my post about the UK. The important thing to take away from this is that there was a concerted effort to try and win and send an incorrect message... and ultimately it has failed.
May 11, 20241 yr really, just thank god the contest can crown an LGBT winner amongst all of this let's just ignore our televote 12, there was clearly a campaign, likely from people who don't give a shit about the rest of the contest. The winner being Enby won't go down well at all with anybody attracted to that televote campaign. Small wins. Unfortunately this year will always be remembered first and foremost for its controversy rather than the quality that has been there.
May 11, 20241 yr Very pleased with the winner - wonder if Celine Dion will make some sort of appearance in Zurich next year?
May 11, 20241 yr I knew Olly's performance (not to mention the song) wasn't good but it wasn't ZERO worthy by any means. Amazing top 4
May 11, 20241 yr We gave 12 to Israel. No words. Expected. No matter what social media says, most people see are on Israel's side and see Eden's testament pretty terrible. Also her song is great.
May 11, 20241 yr Author Thank Christ for the flop of the I nation. Ukraine doing almost as well in the televoting is surely a moment to relive.
May 11, 20241 yr Author Buzzjack has also crowned Switzerland from the big sheet so it's another slay x
May 11, 20241 yr Wow! I didn’t dare to dream about this result: not only because I’m Swiss but because my favourite never wins.   🇨🇭
May 11, 20241 yr Pretty sure the campaign via Twitter/X encouraged people to vote that didn’t even watch the show or heard the song. It was all campaigning but good that it takes only so far - even if Israel would've got 12 from every country, it wouldn't have been enough.
May 11, 20241 yr Interesting to see how many of the performers will speak out now that the competition is over, I suspect Bambie Thug might have a dew words to say.
May 11, 20241 yr Author From what I know atm, Italy, Spain and France also gave 12 points to the cursed I nation in televoting
May 11, 20241 yr I'm amazed the show was so good and relatively drama free after the mess of the last few days, but there's a lot to come out in the wash and the top team at the EBU needs an overhaul.
May 11, 20241 yr So the jury vote saved the UK from complete embarrassment and also prevented an Israel win
May 11, 20241 yr Everything went smooth in the end, well on screen at the least. Some disappointing televote results largely the UK and Norway really getting overlooked.
