Embrace are a brilliant band, they only very narrowly missed out on points from me and I still feel bad I couldn't include them. Seen them live a few times too and they never disappoint. 'Come Back To What You Know' remains an indie classic, but I also love a lot of their later stuff like 'Ashes' and 'Nature's Law' (^ I think that's the one that was denied #1 but I can't remember now what the controversy was).

My fave Stone Roses song will always be Elephant Stone. Love the song and particularly the music video. :D

The Pistols God Save The Queen should have been UK number 1. It would have been a royal scandal :D

Had hoped the Maccabees might get another vote or two from somewhere. They've got a series of great albums.

Dubstar is a band I've not thought about since circa 1996 but quite liked at the time!

Surprised that both the Pistols and the Roses didn't get more votes to be honest. They're both iconic bands that had a pretty huge influence on hundreds of bands that dollowed them.

Status quo have 54 top 40 hits !!

Was not expecting that.

We're into voters top 5 from tomorrow- I'll do the first voters chart on Sunday once the 30 pointers are revealed and all solo vote acts are out of the running!
'Birdhouse In Your Soul' is an absolute tune and 'Boss Of Me' is also pretty decent but I don't think I've ever heard anything else by They Might Be Giants.

Some more notable great bands since last commented. Dire Straits and Embrace notably have some good songs for me and didn't overly mind their Football track either.

Hopefully nothing else of mine falls out now it's close to 200 on the rundown!

BIGGEST HIT: I’M A BELIEVER (#1, 1967)

Catching up a bit x

I guess M83 were a little too obscure for this, not too surprised as their chart success is very limited. One of my favourite less well known acts anyway, so many beautiful soundscapes in their discography <3 (insert buzzmeme here)

The Stone Roses' self-titled debut is great, an amazing intro to Madchester with so many experimental and distinctive styles throughout.

Led Zeppelin and Sex Pistols both had great albums from my last bucket list, I didn't quite point them as they only have a few really big favourites. I'm not quite as into Embrace as I am similar bands of that ilk, but Nature's Law is a particularly great song that Coldplay/Keane would've been proud of <3
