OMG! I lost my 30-pointer at such a crucial moment just an inch from TOP 100, but yesterday I had a feeling it was going to be me.

In the top 100 we have 20 climbers from outside the top 100 last time around and 2 New entries!

I was doing very well in the voters’ chart but then lost 3 biggies near the end.

Favourites from Simon & Garfunkel “The Boxer”, “The Sound Of Silence” and “Homeward Bound”. Criminal that the highest peaking version of “The Sound Of Silence” in the UK is The Bachelors. :drama:

nice surprise that my 30-pointer (top analysts are no doubt speculating as to who that might be) made it this far!

re: Ween - i was completely unaware they had a top 40 single until i checked lmaoo, it was a B-side to Foo Fighters' Walking After You (both songs were part of the X-Files soundtrack). Obviously "Ocean Man" is their best-known song - they're a band well worth diving into though, their back catalogue is......varied, let's just say

Shame to lose another of my votes just before the top 100, but at least it was a climber since last time. My OMD favourites are 'Enola Gay', 'Souvenir' and 'Messages', and they're here as I charted 'Bauhaus Staircase' last year.
BOO! I'm out of the top 20 with 10 groups already revealed but it could have been worse.

Joint 101 - interestingly 3 groups who were on my shortlist: Cranberries were the only ones who made it into my top 30, Simon and Garfunkel were the last ones to be eliminated so technically are 31. Eurythmics would’ve been in my top 40. I eliminated them both partly because I only listen to their greatest hits album (though Heart remain in my top 30 despite this).

And as others have mentioned, despite Cranberries having two massive albums that sold over half million copies each, not only did the Cranberries not have any top 10 singles, but their two highest charting singles were the first releases from their less successful 3rd and 4th albums.

The Cranberries were a great band and 'Zombie' remains one of the defining songs of the 90s for me. RIP Dolores :(

OMD have so many gems in their discography, it's a shame I didn't have room for them in my votes. Sugar Tax is a brilliant album.

Amazed Simon & Garfunkel didn't get a single point last time. Much more representative position this time.

As for the top 100- we now move to three eliminations per day. Ties will be separated by firstly those acts with the most voters giving them points, and in the event of a tie on that front, by the top mark they got from any one voter, failing that the second highest and so on.

Some greats there, don’t know too much of Ahas music mind

Carpenters are great need to listen to them more.

What a shame this years Eternal reunion stopped due to the girls outdated and ridiculous views!

Surprised A-Ha aren't a little higher here even with it being 1 place lower last time even.

Carpenters have some lovely stuff as well!

Never really got the appeal of The Carpenters.

Eternal were great, had a big soft spot for them back in the day. Even after Louise left they were still good.

A-Ha have got some tunes too and I love Morten's voice.
