I'd been expecting my 1 pointer to appear for a while - that'll be the last climber into the top 100 then! I charted 'Mermaids' last year and honestly it's one of my favourites from Florence (+ The Machine) along with the original 'Spectrum', but 'Shake It Out' is the absolute best for me. A shame to see HAIM, ahem, falling - they had my 13 points last time.
Fifth Harmony ahead of alot of legends, never change BJ 🤣

Shake It Out is her best ever. Absolute masterpiece

That’s a lot of points lost for me! All 3 of those acts were / are consistently great.

I’m quite basic with my favourites.

“He’s On The Phone” is a banger. “Only Love Can Break Your Heart” is awesome and “I Was Born On Christmas Day” is a beauty to listen to when the time comes.

Chemical Brothers favourites:

Galvanize

Hey Boy Hey Girl

Block Rockin’ Beats

REM favourites:

Everybody Hurts

Losing My Religion

Man On The Moon

And I’m sorry but I love “Shiny Happy People” :P

They are also my fave St Etienne songs.

I'd definitely have given Florence a few points but always think of her/them as a solo artist not a group so never crossed my mind for this rate

I agree never see her as a band / group either.

and with that PeteFromLeeds becomes our first voter to exit the rate :(
Happy to see Snow Patrol top 40 and The Cure still there - I voted for both last time, and in 2010 I rated 'Chasing Cars' and 'In Between Days' my favourite singles of the 2000s and 20th century respectively

Most of the REM songs I like are mentioned by others really. Black Eyed Peas have some bangers and would be make it in mine if I extended to 40 or 50!

Great to see Snow Patrol top 40 just about. My faves from them are 'Run', 'Chasing Cars' (despite the overplay), 'You're All I Have' and 'Set The Fire To The Third Bar'. Also really liked 'If There's A Rocket, Tie Me To It'.

Don't know much of The Cure's stuff outside of the two well known ones which are both great!

I decided to reward The Cure greatly this time as I only got into them a few years ago, after the last rate took place. I saw their performance of ‘Pictures Of You’ on TOTP repeats and immediately needed to hear more - quickly became obsessed with Disintegration and then their discography in general  I’m impressed by how well Robert’s voice has held up all these years later.

The Cure were a great Pop singles band and their run from 1980 to 1991 was pretty special. I really don't like Friday I'm in Love and they began to lose me during the '90s.

However, Faith, Pornography and Seventeen Seconds are 3 very brilliant Post-Punk albums.

He has unique taste. Congrats! :P

I like to see Snow Patrol top 40 this time. :cheer:

The Love Cats. Literally the only two I really know of theirs.

Don't you know 'Boys Don't Cry'? :o It's absolutely their best imo.

I didn't quite vote for The Cure, but I did love Disintegration, a beautiful soundscape <3 Snow Patrol are a bit like Keane in that their best days are behind them, but they had a very strong discography with some of the best indie stadium anthems.
