Part one of the series finale is just around the corner, and it looks like we're in for a major treat!

Finally some answers about Ruby? Susan Twist (again)! Mel! Rose! Kate Stewart! UNIT! Mrs Flood!

There's also a brand new episode of Tales of the TARDIS (starring the 15th Doctor and Ruby) airing on 20th June between this and Empire of Death that will supposedly bridge the gap. Intriguing

Interestingly, this week’s Radio Times reveals that code names were used when filming to protect the identities of the monsters (plural?) :o

Surely has to be a big returning monster? :cheeseblock:

A lot of online chatter is saying Sutekh, who is one of the shows greatest ever villains but RTD said there was a connection to the third Doctor which doesn't fit with that theory as he was a fourth Doctor story.

If it's a third Doctor villain there aren't a load that have much potential but a few possibilities -

Chronos, Azal or the Draconians would be good but others like the Ogrons or Aggedor don't seem likely.

Most of his other villains have reappeared subsequently so are unlikely, unless it refers to a specific individual like Azaxyr but that wouldn't seem likely either.

Ignoring the third Doctor reference I thought it was going to be Hecuba as she' the Toymaker's sister and would make sense.

Additionaly the Meep referred to 'the boss' who could be BOSS from Mind of Evil but that was seemingly destroyed, plus not that memorable as a villain.

The Great One from Metabellis 3 coming for revenge :D

Also BOSS was in The Green Death... but in that the Giant Maggots were probably more memorable than the computer

You're right. Got BOSS and the Keller Machine's names mixed up. It's been a while since last viewing

Omega is another Pertwee villain... but i don't know, doesn't feel like he would fit. But then I can't see how the much touted Sutekh would either :D

Maybe there's a throwaway line from Pertwee in a story which RTD has clung onto rather than a returning baddie?

That or its the dastardly Alpha Centauri playing tricks!

The Sutekh rumour has annoyed me for a while now, because it seems to be based on absolutely nothing? the only thing that backs it up even slightly is the still from the next time trailer of the glitching Susan Triad standing in front of pyramids, and the reach of 'Sue Tech' = 'Sutekh' (but the company is called Triad Technology, not Susan Technology lol)

but hey if it ends up being Sutekh after all, fair enough. Personally holding out hope that the Trickster is going to break into the main show and have a MOMENT as a big villain!

Isn't there going to be another Tales of the TARDIS with the Doctor and Ruby for a Classic story... so I guess there must be some link.

The Trickster would be a good to use - given we sort of had a moment of that in Turn Left - as I think the Doctor mentions it being part of the Trickster brigade (or something like that).

Seems to be conflicting information about what's actually going to be in the new Tales of the TARDIS episode - some think a classic story explaining more about the finale, but some things are saying it's a 'best bits' of the series with the Doctor and Ruby looking back at their adventures so far.

Ah ok; that could be interesting - I guess pulling the story arc elements all together.

Hyped for the final 2 eps though! feels like its been an age since the last big series finale.... poor Jodie had Ranskoor Av Kolos has her first series finale :melb:

A clip from the episode has been released of the Doctor showing previous versions of Susan Triad they’ve encountered throughout their adventures so far, and omfg the two from the trailer for this episode are previous ones too!! No closer to knowing anything about the monster of the finale :cheeseblock:

Great episode, lot of excitement, so perched for the finale!

I must say as well that it was amusing to see Yolande Trueman being left in the care of Angie Watts whilst Carmel Kazemi went undercover. If you know, you know.

That was unbelievable :cheeseblock: was on the edge of my seat the whole episode waiting for it and oh BOY THAT HAPPENED

will wait until after broadcast tonight to go more in-depth!

Wow that was a blinder of a episode :o , enough said.

This hands down is the best Doctor Who has been since Series 4. Absolutely sensational, not a bad thing to say. The pacing, reveal characters all top tier. It really shows you what Doctor Who should be and why they have still failed half this season.

The whole UNIT concept and cast made this episode. I really think they have got such a good cast in UNIT if they were to make a spin off I would highly likely be much better than Doctor Who.

Actually shocked at this episode its the first time I have truly enjoyed an episode to such an extent for a while. When it's done right it's bloody marvellous!
