I'd love to know what's going on behind the scenes at Italy. How can a team that played so well 4 years ago be this atrocious now? You'd think there'd be a will to defend the title among the players but they're playing like they don't even want to be on the pitch.

Four years is a long time. It’s not the same team at all. 4-5 key players retired(Buffon, chellini, bonucci, immobile etc) a few got banned for gambling issues, Locatelli was a big player didn’t get picked this time, Chiesa who was their rising star broke his leg and just isn’t the same player anymore. Diff coach too. Plus they weren’t that great in 2020, Spain should have beat them and England just threw the game away by being too defensive even Austria could have knocked them out but blew big chances in extra time

Poor performance from Italy, Switzerland have been very solid throughout, at this rate, if England win tomorrow we face the Swiss in the next round.

Italy had nothing. You can’t dismiss the Swiss though that was pretty impressive. England have a real tough game there, they’re a proper team while England are individuals. Still think England should beat them though, unlike Italy, England have forward weapons. Pretty surprised how easy that was for them though
