July 5, 2024Jul 5 My constituency has lost 5,304 Labour voters since the last general election. In fact, it’s the lowest number of Labour voters ever in the constituency’s history.
July 5, 2024Jul 5 Well done to Labour I guess, but boy is 9.7 million votes one cheap landslide. It wasn’t just me who was feeling quite “none of the above” about it then.
July 5, 2024Jul 5 I wonder how they managed to forecast 13 seats for Reform when they got nowhere near that in the end.
July 5, 2024Jul 5 I was torn between voting SNP, Labour & The Lib Dems. I ended up voting for the SNP but my area of south Ayrshire and indeed, east and north Ayrshire all voted Labour in the end. I'm glad it's Labour that's in power now if only for a change but in the same breath, they seem to be nothing but the conservatives in sheep's clothing. I guess we'll see what happens though. Watching the results unfold it was clear from the get go that Labour hadn't managed to increase their voting number and that the conservatives losing was just a result of all the bad policies and upheaval. I think in that sense there's a high chance Labour may end up out the door at the next election, though I'm basing that solely on the fact that labour never managed to convert any new voters in the last five years aside from in Scotland where the swing was a MAJOR loss for the SNP.
July 5, 2024Jul 5 He's resigning? I know he lost but I thought he'd stay on. Only 4 seats for Reform is, better, I guess. Edited July 5, 2024Jul 5 by Hassaan

July 5, 2024Jul 5 Starmer being flanked by supporters waving union jacks as he steps out into Downing Street. Except some jingoistic policies to appeal to the Reform voters. Edited July 5, 2024Jul 5 by DoBelieveTheHype
July 5, 2024Jul 5 I wonder how they managed to forecast 13 seats for Reform when they got nowhere near that in the end. John Curtice said post exit poll that the numbers for the SNP/ Reform were the most uncertain. I think from the data they knew Reform had done well - but obviously didn't translate into the seats that were originally expected in the rest of the UK. The Lib Dems I think were underestimated in the exit poll. Funny though Labour was the most bang on (and SNP too in the end). Edited July 5, 2024Jul 5 by ElectroBoy
July 5, 2024Jul 5 This is wet from Starmer. Thanking Sunak - he should be skewering him. I think he's just doing the respectful thing. Surely he can't start his first PM speech with a scathing attack on the outgoing PM?

July 5, 2024Jul 5 It does feel like the first bit of optimism in the country for a very long time. I don't expect anything to be perfect, but I don't believe they'll be any worse.
