March 11Mar 11 Yamal is already the best player in the world. Phenomenal player. Barca have a good shot at winning the CL if he stays healthy
March 12Mar 12 Well you'd have got very long odds at the start of the season for Arsenal & Villa outlasting both City & Liverpool in this competition.
March 12Mar 12 Considering the Prem’s financial dominance the best 4 teams all are not English(PSG, Bayern, Real & Barca) the prem has to up its game

Liverpool got a tough draw, you could just as easily had Barca/PSG going out.One thing you have to take in to consideration is that for the most part, Bayern and PSG play in leagues they dominate. The financial dominance of the Premier League means the little clubs are better. PSG rotated 8 of their squad and it showed. And all of those teams mentioned spend more than the top premier league teams.

They lost Ugarte too(not that they miss him) and yet they outplayed the team 15 points clear at the top of the prem home and away. It’s a pretty stark wake up call to the prem. Villa or Arsenal could make a decent run but the Prem needs to get its act together. The truly world class players seem to be elsewhere.

Real Madrid were pretty rank today and could have easily fallen out to penalties.. PSG are a good side who've spent a lot of money, they outplayed Liverpool at home, but I thought at Anfield Liverpool were the better team, luck just evaded us. Anorher night we have a penalty, Diaz doesn't stray offside and Quansah's header trickles in off off the inside of the post. If Liverpool end up on the other side of the draw, we have 3 teams in the Quarter Finals. Agree with you about world class players. but I think we're in an era where we lack world class talent. Don't think there's anyone in that 28-31 bracket who you'd say is world class anywhere in the world!
March 13Mar 13 Harry Kane the only one?^I think both points raised goes in circles. PL teams used to dominate in Europe then there was that lull period in the mid 2010s but then we had Liverpool, Chelsea & City all winning it within the space of 4 years. And on the other factor there's a load of potential world class youngsters around at the moment so within 5 years that very 28-31 bracket could be absolutely stacked!
March 13Mar 13 Given I'm currently sharing a tram with a bunch of very loud Spanish football fans, I assume there's a match on tonight?
April 8Apr 8 Oh dear could really do withour Arsenal fans telling us they've just produced the best European performance of all time
April 8Apr 8 Incredible result for Arsenal and given how good Barca are Real could end up winning nothing
April 8Apr 8 I'd still put a good wager on Madrid getting through in the second leg, it's just what they do.
April 8Apr 8 Very surprising result for Arsenal, Real Madrid going out of the Champions League would really throw the competition wide open if Arsenal don't fumble next week!As a result of that win for Arsenal the Premier League is now guaranteed 5 spots in next season's competition so whoever finishes 5th in the league will be certain of a place in next season's tournament. The luckiest team in the history of Premier League football awaits.
April 9Apr 9 Author Great result for arsenal, hope they finish the Francoists off next week!Prettt ridiculous that one of the 5 big leagues gets the 5th CL spot each year, it should just go to the next league due to get an automatic spot!
