I think it will be bang bang bang then next song in a 4 weeks probably Joel Corry then album releases and hope for some increased streaming before New album campaign in late autumn

Oops at this being slated by almost everybody replying in her Popjustice thread!

I… actually don’t mind it?! It’s fun trash, so I’ll bop for a bit 🤓

(I will say that the vocal production sounds quite poor though, a better job could surely have been done)

I've given it a few spins throughout the day and I think I'm erring on the side of dislike rather than like :( It's an absolute mess

The only single I've truly disliked this century is the Gloria Gaynor one (Christmas era excepted), I've managed to find at least something of merit in all the others. But this is a definite second to that.

Cant deny its super catchy but not on the same quality level of Padam.

But its still better and catchier than most songs on Tension

This is not a Kylie lead single - quite disappointed I’ve given it a few spins and nothing grabs me - she doesn’t need Rexha or Lo they add nothing to a very weak song. Midnight Ride is the better current offering from Kylie lead or no lead 😔
It's a catchy song but very disposable Euro trash.

Tbh now I’m happy it’s apparently for a re-release

I mean it’s definitely an ear worm, and I’ll probably have quite a few of listens of it.

But I really hate the vocal production, and as others pointed out, why derange Kylie’s and Bebe’s voices when they had Tove Lo’s voice perfectly made? Or did Tove specifically ban any of her voice alterations? :kink:

I get where they were coming from and what they were trying to create, but they kinda washed the essence out of it while in the process.

I’ll be happy if she grabs a hit with this of course, because she cannot lose a momentum now. And the song was cooked to be a hit: with the collab, with the “hiiii”, with simple-on-purpose lyrics, and I think the reminiscence of Padam/Head was also made on purpose. I kinda feel the annoying voice autotune was also made on purpose to “hook” you. Will it work — we shall see.

But part of me wishes they wouldn’t have bothered with this push, instead quietly dropping the deluxe tracks of Tension with Heavenly Body / Drum / maybe other leaked tracks, sell the usual 20k deluxe copies with those and save the gems (if there are any) for the next album.

I love the polar opposite of opinion that a Kylie release brings out - I’ve seen anything from ‘Kylie has saved the summer with this anthem’ to ‘worst thing she’s ever done’ (both equally dramatic)

^^ Same!

Also I think it’s safe to assume Tove and Bebe will be joining Kylie on stage at BST seeing as Bebe is already in London, snatch that promo :cheer:

For what it’s worth, it’s as of now number one in New Music Friday Aus!

It will probably shift down once Katy Perry and Eminem are released. It’s also made its iTunes debut in Australia and New Zealand (no 5 in New Zealand) and it’s Apple Music debut in Algeria (!)

First listen - I don’t mind it. Its quite catchy and I prefer it already to tension but not as good as Padam or hold on to now. When is it released? I can’t see it on iTunes and thought it was out today.

Praying for a Top 5 in the UK - on previous form though it’ll probably be #38 :drama:
