I can’t see it be a shame losing Nathan, he has some vile opinions. It is a shame it’s not a double to get rid of him and Ryan.

I mean, I didn't say it would be a shame to lose Nathan period, I said it would be a shame to lose him over Ryan when the latter is quite likely a transphobic piece of trash that's just choosing to stay mute on the subject for the cameras, or laugh along and bite his tongue during that drag show, etc.

Solely as a housemate Nathan hasn't been problematic, really. He's just very right-wing and has openly spoken about it or asked questions to gauge opinions/views from others.

It would be a good bet that Marcello does or says something which results in him being removed.

Nathan's biggest crime is having right-wing views - I don't agree with him *remotely* but he's not shown himself to be problematic at all. Ryan's pronouns spiel was actually offensive, even if he's been pretty tame in the house (honestly I'm disappointed at Big Brother and ITV for even allowing that sort of bait in the VT when it's fuelling the nasty media circus). I don't really enjoy Nathan shoehorning his political views into discussions so often (or at least, that's what the editing is making us believe) but I've quite enjoyed his presence away from that, his chats with the likes of Ali, Lily, etc have been nice. He's an interesting housemate at the very least, while Ryan tried to stir up some controversy and then forgot to be remotely interesting in the house.

That said, Nathan's featured more prominently this week so it wouldn't shock me if he were evicted, but I expect he'd be easily nominated in future weeks anyway whereas I'm not sure about Ryan.

Marcello's worse than both though - the misogyny is real.

Marcello is terrifying like… this might be OTT but he’s giving me Sezer vibes, or at worst is days away from something on the level of the Big Brother Australia turkey slap  Genuinely awful awful creep vibes and that goes behind having awful political views or opinions, to think every single thought going round in his mind is based on objectifying whatever woman he sees.

Yep that first eviction panned out exactly as I thought, Ryan's VT got a hell of a lot of traction online and I suspect he won't have done himself any favours yesterday either.

Marcello and Nathan out next please x

Thank god he’s gone. I would love Nathan next but doubt he’ll be up.

Nathan listing all his close friends and they are all white and no POC. The Nigel Farage fan screaming out there.

I'm confused by this statement. It feels a little like confirmation bias to me. He named a very small number of people, who happened to be white. I'm 100% not defending his political views, I couldn't disagree with him more, but I'm struggling to understand how Nathan naming a select few housemates is confirmation of anything involving race...

(not to be disrespectful or anything, it just feels like a reach to me?)

It ties with being a Nigel Farage fan. It’s how I feel as a POC seeing him.

Omg just remembered that it's extremely rare that a woman isn't the first evictee (I think a man going out first only happened once in the first 20 series of BBUK??) so :cheer: WD Baked Potato

Firstly, I hope it's clear that I meant no disrespect. Perhaps there's something I'm missing, I know as a white person I'm probably not best placed here anyway (and like I said, I'm not even a particular fan of Nathan to be defending him so keenly). Equally though, I don't think being a Farage fan instantly means you wouldn't be friends with people of colour. Nathan's already expressed opinions and views which typically contrast to those of Reform / Conservative voters. It's because of this that I find Nathan intriguing - I don't understand him at all really! He's obviously progressive in some aspects, as we learned from his sexuality discussion as well as his willingness to participate in the drag show, yet his political views don't match in that sense at all.

I know it’s no disrespect Joseph, we all will have different opinions and that is fine!

I hope Nathan proves me wrong as the show goes on. I just personally just feel uncomfortable with Nigel Farage and his fans as a lot of stuff Farage says contributes to hate crime.

I totally understand where you're coming from, and I appreciate us being able to have a discussion about it! I know Farage is a dangerous presence in politics and I'm baffled by what people see in him, so I'd like Nathan to drop the constant shoehorning of Farage/politics into chat and let discussions happen naturally so we can see what's really provoking these views.

For me it says a lot about someone’s morals to support Nigel Farage regardless of if they espouse the views strongly or say offensive things.

It is odd that he isn’t “worse” for want of a better word for someone who supports Farage, as in he is fine with having discussions, the drag show was fine to him, and he hasn’t said anything horrendous in his own words as such. Perhaps he is out of touch and rich and just… doesn’t care but again that still says a lot about someone’s morals imo and is not someone I wish to see on my TV for the next six weeks.
