OK, so I caved in and heard the clips. OH MY GOD "Someone for me" is FABULOUS!! 1st listen of that 1min snippet and it's such an earworm. So anthemic. She should record a whole album with Lostboy!

I am disappointed by the album to be honest.

Overall the album is really nice, proper dancefloor songs. Only nitpicky complaint might be that she sounds a bit more nasal than usual. But the snippets all sound really good. I just realised the snippets are like 1min 30sec so that's more than half the song!

Taboo, Someone For Me, Good As Gone, Kiss Bang Bang & Hello are all really good. I’m not sure this needed to be a studio album though. Add Lights, Camera, Action to my list and this would’ve been a great Tension (Deluxe) album.

From the first listen and it's amazing already

Taboo - 9 (this is my favourite on first listen, great production and very ABBA coded)

 

Someone For Me - 8 (this is great, very "take me home at the end of the night and do what you want to me". Very flavoursome with the Latino guitar licks)

 

Good As Gone - 8.5 (this is essentially her I Will Survive but good)

 

Kiss Bang Bang - 9 (this is an instant hitter and could be a good single)

 

Diamonds - 7.5/8 (I remember it was good)

 

Hello - 7 (A blatant copy of Padam but that's fine)

 

Dance to toe Music - 7.5/8 (summer beach party vibes)

 

Shoulda Left Ya - 9 (this is LUSH. Giving me real Lost Without You vibes, a bit melancholic and that sense of longing she conveys so well)

 

Edge of Saturday Night - 9 (it bangs)

 

No Oh No - 2 (I will never listen to this song again after today)

 

Midnight Ride - 9 (I think this has emerged as my favourite of the collabs now)

 

Dance Alone - 7 (It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's enjoyable enough and not as bad as a lot of people say it is)

I have to say this is better than I expected, I was half expecting reductive copies of Padam but only one track really falls into that (well 2 if you count LCA)

 

The collabs feel like a bit of a tagged on afterthought at the end of a long EP though.

I really do think she is suffering on Spotify a bit recently because of whatever BMG have done distribution wise

 

Those record companies Sony, Universal really do have all the advantages

Only 8 on UK itunes so not many pre orders sold hopefully they will do a few promos over the next few weeks to get some sales here
