You also said you thought first day sales would be 12k!

 

Well next week it will drop like a stone and could potentially drop out T75. Most of those sales will be hard core fans.

 

The same as any Kylie release - fanbase sales in week 1.

 

I don’t think it’ll hang around for long but I also don’t think we’ll be getting 1-out either.

3000 sales or so is needed for top 40, good chance Tension II will be about that or higher week 2. It’s collecting some streams, unlike many other top ten studio album entries. Physical sales for everyone plummet week 2 but a thousand or so, plus decent streaming sales, is enough to stay top 100.

I truly truly love the album. Nothing groundbreaking but a good expansion of the Tension landscape. I can see why some folks (even my friends not in this group) find this a disappointment ("no standout track", etc.) but it's such a pleasant cohesive album with tip top production and great vocals. I keep teling them not to think of this as a new era/project/campaign but a set of B-sides of the first.

Some of these songs sound a lot fuller and more accomplished in their extended versions! Particularly 'Someone For Me' actually sounds like a song now rather than a short jingle, and 'Kiss Bang Bang' sounds glorious 👌

 

However, in its extended form the "da da da da" in 'Diamonds' starts to grate on me :lol: and I've realised that whilst I really like the backing track on 'Hello', the actual song itself and the overly processed vocal ruins it somewhat.

Taboo extended isn't as good as I thought it would be but it's still good but I much prefer the album version.

In a way I wish the digital versions were now held back until next week to cushion the drop as the number is safe now.

Streaming wise tension 2 looks like it may not be far off on tension for week 1.

Waiting for the extended versions to come out on Spotify. I'm not wasting money on her website.

I can really see my self making a playlist with The best songs from T1 and T2

That’s a risk. For Tension 1 the digital exclusive with two extra tracks were only available that week & only briefly appeared on Spotify for an hour or so before being taken down so there’s no guarantee these will ever appear on streaming.

It’s giving HOTN vibes - that was also her favourite song with no video and the messiest release schedule.

Yeah, I'm not expecting them to splash a huge amount on it - especially as a post-album single (ala Hold On To Now and Real Groove)
