With the various post-Christmas New Year sales, and hopefully either Taboo or Good as Gone sent out to UK radio in January, Tension II should finally hit Gold certification.

It's nowhere near gold. Tension 1 is.

Isn't it on less than 50k copies? The aim is Silver at the min!

Yes Tension 2 i think is on around 50k or close to it so silver we have to wait for,

Tension should be on the verge of going Gold but could still be 1 or 2k away.

Honestly Tension is taking FOREVER to go gold :drama:

And I’m confident T2 will snatch silver with the tour etc.,

Nice end of year mail out from Team Kylie - highlighting T2 and with links to buy and stream so might encourage a sale or two.
Not that i was expecting it but neither tension or tension 2 are in the mids top 100 but they arent on sale enough to come close id say.
I think it's more so that they're not being streamed enough to come close... at this point I don't think physicals being on sale really causes notable shifts in the chart.
The Kylie fanbase never let her down on the physical sales.

So true.

Infact, was talking to a friend about Madonna's new album (whenever it's released) and if she still has the UK fanbase to buy enough physicals to send it to no1 given she hasn't released a studio albums in over 5 years. Again, this comment wasn't meant to be a comparison or anything, just a casual thought that came up that I thought I'd share.

Whenever Madonna releases she is sure to do the multi format to go for the Number 1 as she hasnt had a number 1 since 2012 i think.

Kylies fanbase is very loyal like that and im sure the Madonna fans are too.

Exactly, both have fanbases that have invested in the said artists through the years.

Yes, on the UK chart it's kind of surprising that both 2015 Rebel Heart and 2019 Madame X didn't get to no1. Kylie, post-Golden has been really lucky by signing to a record label that knows how to milk the fanbase's spending power ;)

The 5 number 1 albums for kylie since joining BMG have really boosted her album discography and it's been a great run for her and all going well her next album will do the same.

If Madonna releases on the right week with multi formats I can't see her not going number 1 but will miss out without multi format.

Madonna ultimately needs to choose the right week, she went up against Bruce Springsteen last time who's an album heavyweight and she was never gonna beat him.

Rebel Heart missing #1 was a big shock, but I suppose Sam Smith was massive at the time and she released it on Mother's Day week where people would be buying Sam's album in droves.

From memory, I think it was:

UK: Bruce no1, Madonna no2

US: Madonna no1, Bruce no2
