Also not sure why people can't just call this a full album. It's 13 songs. It's an album and is filled with great pop dance music

I feel like some fans just aren't used to this "part 2" concept and are therefore a bit reluctant to consider it as a full album in its own right. But that's definitely what it is. It's a continuation of the era for sure, but it's still an actual album - her 17th studio album - so I think certain fans will have to try and accept that, rather than claim it to be something else.

When a reissue was rumoured, I hoped instead for a new studio album - so I'm really happy that that is what has been delivered in the end. Great to have all these new songs rather than just have 3 songs at most stuck on to the previous album.

Back to number 1 and 26 on Amazon Music current best selling CD/Vinyls

Tension 1 up up to 53th.

Body Language up to 56th

I honestly think on Mondays update it will probably only be around 10-12k sales, hope i am way off but just don't see it

Come on Lovers we can do this.

OK, let’s get to it (sorry). According to preliminary data (yesterday’s physical/ digital sales and fulfilled preorders; not streams) Tension II has already moved around 26000 units, slightly below Tension’s first sales flash (31677), but with 16000+ (!) copies ahead of Rag'n'Bone Man’s What Do You Believe In? which currently sits at No2, these should be enough for it to secure the top spot on Friday and become Kylie’s 10th No1 album in the UK.

I think the title might make people feel it's something more thrown together than a new album but I do accept its a brand new album but maybe its just me but there isn't the usual buzz around the album that usually comes when she releases a new album.

There is a little element that some of the songs possibly lack identity that could be released by any artist and some lack that kylie touch which usually makes her music more identifiable.

If that's correct I'm very happy with that as I never expected it to match the opening sales of Tension, based on that her 10th number 1 is starting to look very doable.

It is a new album. And a surprisingly good one!!! I was so scared because I did not like any of the collaborations ! But the album is really fresh and many tracks manage to stir away from the generic style of most of her recent collaborations (Dance alone, MOM, even EOSN for me). I have the album on repeat non stop. I even started to enjoy Diamonds.

Bloody he'll I am astonishesd if that is true. Even the itunes album only entered at 8 when usually it would be 2 copes into 5 and 2k of sales of pre orders.

I will wait and see!

Thanks for the info

I am really enjoying it !!! I am going to add PP and Tension and 10 out of 10 etc to a playlsit today and move them around a bit and have fun

That's what it is. FUN

Yaaas, that's fantastic! :cheer: Thanks for sharing, Dawid!

I did feel confident that this would sell pretty well, particularly once the "pre-order for ticket access code" came into play. Plus, honestly... it's Kylie, and there's quite a few formats. Her fanbase has proved itself to be consistently loyal throughout her BMG era, so I didn't think that her sales would suddenly be radically down for Tension II.

I had hoped for 35,000 for the first week, but it seems there could be potential to exceed 40,000 if there's some digital bonus albums still to come, or any other yet to be revealed physical formats.

If those figures are true then gimmicks may be kept until week 2 and 3 to help

The tour announcement definitely helping her in other countries

13 Itunes number 1s at moment, I know not huge sakes but streaming on Apple is excellent

Spotify and Amazon not playing ball but hey

Also streaming on Tidal and Pandora etc all help

Don't forget we are pushing for a top 40 for LCA this week.stream every version go go go

Even Diamonds and Shoulda left Ya have grown in me . Also my oh my is completely fine

I hope those figures are genuine, thank you for sharing Dawid.

I’m not surprised, the pre sale code has helped make up for the lack of the deluxe CD. Probably will finish in the region of 35k, hopefully streaming for this, whilst not particularly high, will long term be better than Tension.

Though that 3 CD option might have given the numbers a bigger boost than a deluxe!

Those Rag n Bone sales seem too low. Could be data missing at this early stage.

Strange how the signed print offer is still available….either she signed a thousand or people aren’t willing to pay £30 for the vinyl. They should pair it with the three CD bundle as that would be much better for chart purposss.

All my pre-orders have arrived from Townsend today (apart from the 3 x CDs) - love the the fact that the signed prints are the size of the vinyl album sleeve
Hoping RM deliver mine today, it’s saying it’s at the local hub.

HMV Oxford St is a strange place. One floor of music downstairs and Kylie had loads of copies, i was in there for nearly 30 mins on a Friday early evening and hardly anyone in there and no one buying anything...... such a pity. I remember going 20 years ago to those massive HMVs and spending all day there and soooo busy

She is not on G Norton on 25th or 1st Nov so lets see if is on anyone othertime.

I guess she will head back to Australia sooner rather than later to get ready for tour etc and have some rest too, though we know she is a workaholic

Out for a month in September with Broncitis, i really hope that doens't comebakc

Taboo is killing it for me right now and good as gone is growing on me more with each listen, shoulda left ya i loved on the first 2 listens but i can see myself pulling away from it with more listens. Kiss Bang Bang is also really sticking with me aswell and its probably that and taboo tha tare my 2 faves right now.

Night Owl has leakined and is supposed to be really good. Kylie 'Hoots' in it lol

will it be on a deluxe or digital later in the week or on week 2?

Excelllent review from NME https://www.nme.com/reviews/album/kylie-min...-review-3804266

"Not to put a damper on the triumph that was ‘Tension’, but ‘Tension II’ surpasses it by light years – and, in so doing, awkwardly puts into question the need to connect the two albums in the first place. This collection of (mostly) new songs stands strong on its own. The record is tighter yet bolder, sexier yet sadder, as icy, electropop siren Kylie once again leaves it all on the dancefloor"

The answer is ..... to sell Tension Tour tickets lol

I can't say a figure until those 26k sales are confirmed lol.

The person who shared the 26,000 info on SayHey, is also the person who shared 31,677 as Tension's first day sale and 49,735 for its Thursday midweek - so I think we can trust in the info!
