Something odd going on - streams have dropped from the 800k to 1m mark regularly to now 400k-500k

I always said that something WRONG happened to Spotify for like 3 months for no good reason.

It's also WW, there were months (March till June) that the top 7 WW all were above 7-8M, again, no reason. In the US 3-5M all of a sudden, now we returned to normal numbers which make way way more sense. Maybe some of the heavy autoplay stopped, it was unbearable.

JADE up to 8 on AM, Insane. I wonder how high she can get on Spotify today.

Feel like a factor comes in that the constant influx of new, massive hits has dried up to an extent. Like the top 10 is still relatively fresh, but it's also still largely the same stuff from over a month ago, and that can only sustain itself for so long.

Same but still BOAF is a new single and gaining these days and still, getting into normal big numbers on Spotify, UK and WW. Nothing like 1M for every song every week.

Good to see Luke Combs' Ain't No Love in Oklahoma back in the Apple chart at #173 now Twisters is out!

Already up to #117 on Apple + back in on Spotify today at #181!

The appreciation of some mediocre country songs in the UK right now is a bit bizarre to me - since when they become the most amazing pieces of music ever, I cannot understand lol Pretty wild trend!

I really feel like we had one of those very unusual periods of back-to-back blockbuster hits for a few months that was a massive contributor to the rise in streams. The music industry now seems to be on its summer break (some K-pop releases and JADE aside).

It reminds me a bit of Christmas 1997, early 2001 or late spring/summer 2013, periods when there were a constant flurry of huge singles coming out one after the other that all sold 600k upwards in total.

The top 10 is so stale at the moment that we're all waiting for ACR to shove deadwood out of the way, but it's not like there's loads of quickly growing hits to replace the departures in a meaningful way. Sales in the top 10 are going to very quickly fall from 30-35k for No.10 to 20k because the new/growing product just isn't there right now.

I do agree that the autoplay appears to have calmed down a bit too, or at least isn't all focused as heavily on the same 2-3 songs as it was for months.

It's just frustrating that neither Billie nor Chappell seem quite able to capitalise on the low bar needed for #1 this week with Espresso on ACR. Maybe one of them can get a boost next week...

On the plus side, Chappell just hit #1 on Irish Spotify :D

Crazy that just a few weeks ago Houdini got over 100k in sales for #1 with two others near 80k now this weeks #1 will be under 50k. Never been a better time to release a single for #1 for big artists out there if they have one ready to go
