Maybe she's heard that excellent missing remix of say hey and it's inspired her to revisit IP, that remix was so current and would fit the direction she is currently at sound wise.

I mean she has a world tour as free promo. She never stops and those number 1 albums are ticking up to legendary status

That tour concludes at the end of July, I hardly see how another brand new album will come straight afterwards. Especially one that she's only just begun thinking about.

I quite agree that I see a new campaign/sound coming in 2025 right after the tour (very much like Fever following the OANLT tour). She seems to be enjoying this phase and is hungry for more. Given her work ethic (and now that she's carrying her studio in her luggage), she also has the flexibility of recording songs given her whirlwind schedule.

 

I believe even Taylor's Poets album was kind of recorded during downtime between her Eras tour, correct? Doesn't seem uncommon these days with the power of technology. Kylie even proudly said in one of her T2 US interviews this week that she didn't record a single of the 4 collabs with the artist in the studio.

 

Edited to add: For all we know, she's probably already gotten a headstart on the new soundscape/concept for the album.

I feel the new album is already well on its way. She didnt just do one song with Lost Boy etc, and nothing from Joel Corry, did they not make the cut or being held back?

 

Thats half the reason why i think they used Tension II rather than a new album title. It was quick, easy, and fitted in with tour announcement.

 

When will she ever have chance to promote more than just after a tour ready for the Xmas 2025 market.

 

Just my thoughts. in late 2026 tour will be over, she will be 58, PP will finally not be talked about as much.

 

Maybe i am being optimistic but thats my view lol

Well she herself has said she wants to do something completely different next time, so on that basis I wouldn't expect an old Lostboy track to be used on the next album. Plus I'm also pretty sure if the Joel Corry track emerges it'll be his single featuring her. He's just about to begin a new era apparently, so hopefully that'll turn up sometime.

i think if she gets great publicity for Xmas etc then she may ride the wave with a Q4 release in 2026.

I'd rather she takes her time with whatever's next and doesn't rush it, 2027 sometime is fine after all this Xmas stuff. I mean Golden was a year and a half after the second re-issue of Kylie Christmas.

Useless fact, but she's never released a studio album in a year ending in 6 (1996/2006/2016), and if we take her word for it then it's not happening in 2026 either!

It's also almost time for her once a decade slightly more insightful than usual release (Impossible Princess - X - Golden)!

She needs a break to be fair to her and we have the live cd of Tension coming next year to tide us over, id say she will be releaisng a new studio album in 2027.

What’s immediately next for you?

I think I should have a mini break. It’s not my default. But I’ll still be reaching out to my writers. We just want to make music. I don’t know what’s next immediately, but I know there’ll be songwriting next year – maybe not for a thing year, but just because we love it.

The more I’ve progressed in my career, the more profound and challenging and rewarding it becomes. It’s more emotional. Everything is more. After lockdown, performing Tension was cathartic. I’m super proud of it. We stuck to our guns about what it looked like. It wasn’t scaled down in effort, but visually it was, and the focus was really… there was nowhere to run or hide.

I’m happy with a year break for creative reasons but would also be nice to tie in the next album with her 40th anniversary in music (whether that be 2027 to celebrate her first single or 2028 for her first album).

Kylie says on BBC Radio 2 that there will be some new music in 2026 and there are some tracks/voice notes around.... after a little break
