Tonight's episode was fantastic. I was totally engaged all the way through, to the point I didn't even think I was watching people act. Uncomfortable viewing at times, but realistically so. I complete

It wouldn't be as bad if he had more of a storyline than just tormenting Suki, I'm still skeptical that he's even sick
Chris Clenshew is leaving as Executive Producer. I think I might actually cry. The work he has put into bringing the show back to it's best will never be forgotten.

Oh no that's a real shame :( Clenshaw's work on the show helped me become a regular viewer again for the past couple of years after drifting away in 2015.

I see he's leaving in February 2025 so going out on a high with the 40th anniversary!

Tough shoes to fill going forward.

Oh no :(

Executive Producers make or break soaps. That last one on Hollyoaks almost had the soap axed :(

That’s a real shame. He has been the best EP for a very long time. Given some we had in the run up, this is something to be very nervous about, especially considering EE is the only soap currently doing really well (though I hear Emmerdale might have gotten better recently).

What has been confirmed is his replacement is someone who has worked on EE before, Ben Wadey.

"I'm pleased to be passing the show on to Ben Wadey. I’m confident that, under him, EastEnders will continue to thrive, and I wish him the very best as it is without doubt the best job in telly and I hope he enjoys the ride just as much as I have. Thank you, EastEnders – for everything."

Ben Wadey will be returning to EastEnders from Channel 4 where he was Commissioning Executive overseeing Hollyoaks and a number of original dramas, including ‘Generation Z’ and the upcoming James Graham drama ‘Brian and Margaret’. Previously Ben worked on EastEnders as the Story Editor overseeing many stories including the celebrations for the 35th anniversary as well as a special episode focussed on Linda Carter as she struggled with her alcoholism. Ben also played a pivotal role in the introduction of the Panesar family, fronted by the formidable matriarch Suki. At Holby City, Ben served as Story Producer for the BAFTA-nominated final series. His final episodes featured the farewell to Holby legend Jac Naylor and the return of numerous beloved characters.

Speaking about his new role as Executive Producer, Ben Wadey says: “I’m thrilled to be returning to EastEnders at such an exciting time for the show. Having grown up watching and loving EastEnders, it sparked my passion for television, and I feel I’ve known the residents of Walford my entire life – so to lead this iconic BBC soap into its next chapter is a true privilege. I can't wait to collaborate with the exceptional team at EastEnders and build on Chris Clenshaw’s brilliant work to deliver unmissable stories to fans - both those who have been watching for years and those just discovering Albert Square.”

I agree he came at the right time as the show was in trouble before he arrived and he turned it around so quickly, I'm not shocked though as I was expecting it but I just hope the new exec is good but I don't think he can as bad as the 2 or 3 before Chris.

Maybe it’s one in, one out with Louisa Lytton?

One sentence for every child so far for poor Stace!!!

I'm going to headcanon this as a sentence for that RIDICULOUS Christmas affair with Max. She has three kids in the show and was going to a CHRISTMAS PLAY!!! Sex with the Baked Bean would have been the LAST thing on her mind!

Great to see Balvinder winning over the usual suspects that tend to win for EastEnders, Suki is a fascinating, multifaceted character played brilliantly by Balvinder.
So Eastenders will not air on October 3rd and will be on October 4th instead because, checks notes, they are airing an interview Laura Kuenssberg has conducted with Boris Johnson.

I mean….why?

This has now been cancelled as Laura accidentally sent Boris her briefing notes for the interview  so the linear EE schedule is back to normal today.

Well it was too late for virginmedia to update so tivo hasn't recorded tonight's episode.

Silly BBC cancelling it in the first place than uncancelling it, messing up people's series links.

Should have just left it on Thursday, sod the Boris interview they could have shown that another time.

Well i watched Thursday's show on iplayer (the app on my TV version not the virginmedia one which is always slow)

Great ending!

Big Dave Wicks really hasn't aged a day has he :drama:

Priya lusting after him is a total mood, I'm sorry
