I mean, I get why it would have been a stretch for Cindy to imagine Ian turning up at Peggy’s but why wouldn’t she think Peter, Lauren or Bobby would turn up? It’s amazing Anna and Gina weren’t there.

I love that Reiss’ plan to help Sonia is currently just sit in the house alone with his head in his hands. Part of me today thought they should bring Bex back (it’s been 4 years) but then I remembered how dull and dreary she was.

Ya Bex was a bit of a misery but it would make sense to bring her back but change her character direction.

I'm starting to think Teddy is the link to Chrissie Watts return, anyone else thinking she will be his wife? If it happens that way I'm sure Sharon and Teddy will probably be together just in time for her arrival.

Feels too ‘George was married to Cindy’ to me.

 

I’m intrigued about Chrissie’s return but I’d rather she had no secret connection we’re unaware of.

What did people think of the club crush, the scenes towards the end of it were good as was the screen shot from the top angle made the place look busy but prior to that i was like this doesnt look believable at all when they kept how busy it was when the place was half empty.

You could feel the tension of it all particularly on Monday during the latter parts of the episode. I thought it was done well and of course had to be shot in a way that "looks busy" without bringing any harm to the cast and supporting actors. What I am pleased about is Chelsea having something to do and how long is she going to keep quiet for

Well, Cindy getting bored and cheating on Ian was always on the cards-it’s what Cindy has always done. Having rewatched her first stint again recently, she was constantly miserable and looking for something to cheer her life up. The fact that Ian has stopped worshipping her is all part of it.

 

However, I agree that straying with Junior is not working. I’m not sure we need her family hating her again and having her need to win back their trust AGAIN when we’ve just had a year of it. Rinse and repeat just like Sam whenever she came back over the past couple of years.

 

However, I expect it’s a done deal that Cindy will sleep with

upon his return which I am looking forward to.

I suppose they are staying true to her character but if that’s the best they could do there was not much point bringing her back. Kathy for example they didn’t do loads with initially but she slot right back in, a character like Cindy is probably only ever going to go round in circles like she is now.

 

I’m already sick of George and his brothers too, they just keep adding to his family and I kind of care about each one less and less. Or moreso I’m just fed up of everything being about George to be fair.

They are in danger of doing a ‘Mick Carter’ to George but so far I don’t think it’s been quite that bad. But I don’t see any reasoning why we needed to have his estranged son (with wife and child) and his long lost brothers this year when they could all easily have arrived more spread out next year. There’s so much else going on with that family at the moment, we don’t need all this.

 

As for Cindy, I’m honestly not sure what they could do with her. All she ever did was be miserable with Ian, sleep with someone else or have a baby. She’s not even engaged with her own business. She doesn’t seem to want to spend any time with any of the children she claims to love so much. And I have to say, Michelle Collins doesn’t have the greatest range as an actor. In most other things I’ve seen her in, she kind of plays a variation of Cindy. I was worried about this when we found out she was returning. The case of the character being remembered more fondly than the actor.

 

Gillian Taylforth has her limitations too but as you say, Kathy can slot in pretty much anywhere, she’s just one of those characters. There was always a space for her in the cast because Kathy can work with many characters and in many stories. I can’t help but think that perhaps Cindy’s arc was done in the 90s. Don’t get me wrong, I was sold on how they executed her return but I don’t look at the last 25 years and wonder what Cindy would have been doing. With the exception of Lucy’s and Steven’s deaths, I’m pretty sure she’d just have been cheating on and warring with Ian over and over. Like a latter day Max and Tanya.

It esd so, so cringe, especially with Vinny suddenly going to the club, and rudhing to be in, for the first time ever lol. There was also an extra, casually dacing and smiling, with like a metre of personal space all around him! Everyone was screaming snd he was bobbing his head! I thibk he missed the memo about what the club scene was for :lol:
