Yeah, it makes no sense given Reiss hasn’t really gotten on with anyone, always puts his foot in it and has been caught trying to rip people off already.

If they’re all so sure it wasn’t Sonia, why aren’t they all looking at Reiss?

Tonight's episode was fantastic. I was totally engaged all the way through, to the point I didn't even think I was watching people act. Uncomfortable viewing at times, but realistically so. I complete

Like it worked with Grey because he knew how to keep up appearances, he was new with Chantelle etc but the Reiss stuff is ridiculous, people only bat an eye if he's slightly rude to them like the man literally stole from his comatose wife and tried to scam multiple people on the square (that you know of) ??? Him not staying to chat isn't the biggest red flag you've seen fs
There are many unanswered questions around the new Mitchells and I love that there's so much to unpack with each scene that they're in. The slow burn they've had since the summer has really helped with this and rather than have them in all guns blazing it's been refreshing to build up to this week's episodes and have them in the spotlight a bit.
I am liking Nicola Mitchell. She can stay. The attitude and the presence is just right and not over the top like Elaine tends to be.
Struggling to get on board with a

Ruby return now she's here. Of course she stormed into Stacey's at just the right moment

Nobody locks their doors!! They all love the drama!

This revelation literally explains everything about Elaine tbh.
It's quite a layered characterisation if you look back on it all and like T Boy says it explains a lot about her. Well done to the writers
I think they realised Elaine wasn't translating the way they wanted her to but I do think this plot point helps, now all we need is father peacock to come back from the dead
Not Lauren having nothing to do all year and then being given another addiction storyline ugh. Jac Jossa can do so much more?

I feel the same way, it's like they haven't a clue what to do with her now that she's back but having her and Peter together again could have set up a lot of potential, it's disappointing to see them just go this route again, even the pregnancy storyline is something we've seen with her before
I will never not be obsessed with Elaine, she is so deeply camp like she’s awful but that’s kind of the point and I agree this week’s events definitely explain it all

I mean... I doubt they has this set up as a back-story for Elaine all along, but it does fit well as to why she's so theatrical and OTT.

Linda's reaction - whilst I appreciate she was very drunk - didn't sit right with me. Whether there is something I am missing by not knowing the full story from when Elaine was in it before and I wasn't watching then, but for a mother who is so caring for her daughter to be spoken to is such a way seemed too much.

I don't really like drunk-Linda to be honest.

Elaine is a shocking mum tbh and has done very little to help and support Linda in general but the leap from "you're father was a closeted gay man" to "my parents never loved me" is a lot, even for drunk Linda

Elaine has always been a flawed character, even in her previous incarnation though people often forget that. She has always acted very selfishly in most circumstances, even when fighting for Linda against Dean after the rape, it was as much about her as it was her daughter. She has shown to be a shocking mum especially this time last year when she, selfishly, begged her daughter to lie about the rape because she wanted to save her fiancé. This week has finally given us the explanation as to why she behaves the way she does and given the character some more vulnerability. I can’t say that it was a plan all along but I can say that at least they’ve worked enough on this twist to make it fit.
