January 2Jan 2 I think they took the domestic violence route as far as possible in terms of tragic endings with Chantelle so hopefully they don't do that again. I do fear they might kill them off due to just not knowing what to do with those characters now they don't have to fight Nish but that would just show shitty, lazy writing if that's the case plus there's a new producer coming in right? it would be a shame to rob them of the chance to work with some of the strongest actresses in the show. If anyone was going to die Denise would make the most sense because they have done a lot with her over the years so there's less loss of opportunity there in a way. Anyway that aside, the location for the wedding was stunning, probably my favourite EastEnders wedding I've seen, it was all really lovely in every aspect until Nish
January 2Jan 2 "She's tougher than a cage fighter's jockstrap". Never change Priya  Nice use of Julia's Theme to show a happy moment for once!
January 2Jan 2 Nish down.... Hopefully Reiss' exit is soon too! Aftermath ep was good... barring Martin and Ruby. Priya needs more storylines this year; she's great in today's ep.
January 2Jan 2 Nish down.... Hopefully Reiss' exit is soon too! Omg this. His random appearance on NYE was to suggest he's still visiting Bianca. I think we return to his story next week, or at least the week after as Sonia appears w/c 13th Jan
January 2Jan 2 The shot of Nish and Suki being flung off the balcony - it was super symbolic because in Indian culture (and a Sikh wedding) the bride would hold the scarf of the groom during the wedding but here Nish clung onto Suki's as they fell. I g a s p e d .

January 2Jan 2 I pray 2025 is Priya’s year, Sophie Khan-Levy is absolutely outstanding and I don’t think we’ve seen even half of what she’s capable of, if she had a really good issue based storyline or something to get her teeth into I think she would knock it out of the park. Even just a proper romance with Ravi, imagine a love triangle and rivalry with Denise!!! Also I don’t see the point of Ruby coming back if it was just going to be the same as last time around with the Martin love triangle. I’m thinking she dies in the fire/stunt thing, I don’t see how or why she would stick around. I get the sense Louisa Lytton came back for a big storyline or a final exit, I can’t see she’d come back just for a tedious love triangle when she spent years saying she wouldn’t come back yet or didn’t want to.
January 2Jan 2 Martin and Ruby are so dull… But then Martin and anyone is kinda dull - he is just a boring character. I guess with Stacey exiting soon it’s going to be odd to see how things pan out for any potential triangles
January 2Jan 2 I’m so glad we got the shot of the body bag zipping up over Nish. This has been a long time coming. Lovely to see everyone else has seemingly survived and a great use of Julia’s Theme. Lovely to see the episode was dedicated to the cast and crew who departed this world in 2024. Hard to believe some are gone.
January 3Jan 3 Yes no coming back for Nish which is great, not a character i will miss in any way at all as i found him annoying most of the time. Priya really needs to come to the front, easily the character on the show with the most potential right now and i just hope they use her far far more as she is a fantastic actress.
January 3Jan 3 The New Year episodes have been brilliant. Echoing every last word others have said about Priya. She must get a meaty storyline in 2025. Not sure I have ever been so glad to see a character killed off as much as Nish. The storyline became almost unbearable to watch, but it's saving grace was this ending. Here for Ravi and Denise getting together and it being public as she is single now. Ruby can jog on. I think there is potential for Martin if he got back with Stacey, but you can only see a boring existence with Ruby which would lead to just her getting pregnant again or them breaking up. Edited January 3Jan 3 by ChrisJK
January 3Jan 3 The lead up to Ruby's return was rather well done. Confirming she was pregnant but no one believing her, ending up in the same prison as Chrissie to then have her share that with Sharon and follow it up with a little investigation, fab. I can definitely appreciate Ruby changing the way she acts now she has Roman and Chris Clenshaw has done a great job in tidying up what Kate Oates and Jon Sen did with her in her second stint without detracting from the story. What I don't like is Ruby and Martin just getting back together because they have a son because that relationship was toxic and you can see Stacey's resentment there is probably going to be what leads to her leaving, which is shit really. Not a month ago Martin was going to fight for custody of Roman and now because Stacey knocked him back he's back in the arms of Ruby? Poor chap. There's got to be something more here (maybe a bigger revenge plan from Ruby) that's just not being seen yet.
January 3Jan 3 Can’t we just find Martin someone new? Preferably someone who Stacey has no history with? Martin and Stacey’s relationship is just as toxic as he relationship with Ruby. Or even get him back with Sonia down the line? I remember rooting for them back in 2018.

I don't think anyone should be saddled with him
January 3Jan 3 I'd say dullest man goes to Howie Idk if Howie is dull - he’s underused but he seems to have fun whenever he’s with Kim. Martin seems miserable 99% of the time
January 4Jan 4 I find Martin pretty dull too I can't lie, it's like they can't quite figure out what to do with him. The last couple of episodes have been fantastic. The Panesars are the star family of the show right now and have been for a while - every one of them pulled their weight. The Nish storyline's been dragged out way too long and it had become tedious despite the good performances from the actors, but this was a stellar climax. Totally agree that this is proof Priya needs more to do - the way she leapt into action to protect her kids was just the energy we need in the show.
