Yeah, lots of focus on Spencer. He and Vicki weren’t even a major couple back in the day and we only even knew they’d gotten together off screen from a throw away remark from 2014 between Alfie and Sharon. Not even sure it’s been mentioned since, maybe by Michelle when she left in 2018? Them breaking up shouldn’t be massive news.

Look though as if they’ve squandered the chance to give them kids despite this, though I guess she did abort his child the first time.

Tonight's episode was fantastic. I was totally engaged all the way through, to the point I didn't even think I was watching people act. Uncomfortable viewing at times, but realistically so. I complete

Terrible episode. That new Vicki doesn't even look lile the last one at all. Also lol at them giving her a Home Counties accent, snd giving their child who grew up in Australia one too!!! Lesrning from their mistaked with the original one, who changed her accent one day, as the press was having a field day.

Too much Alfie, too kuch talk about bloody Spencer Moon. Not ONE person, except Alfie, believed he was straight. He was clearly gay. It was a marriage of convenience, and I expected them to run with he left her to live his truth, but no. She lied about the affair. But of course!

Just terrible.

Ross and Joel are both from London - the dialogue in yesterday/ today’s ep covers it.

Joel isn’t Vicki’s kid

I'd also say that Alice Haig looks a lot like Michelle (when Susan Tully played her) so actually it's a pretty good casting for Vicki.

They REALLY wanted a new iconic line for Sharon, but that escallopes line, and the scene in geberal, felt really flat and forced.

Nice consistency in that Bex is still a boring killjoy after all this time. I mean, I know times are shit for her, but honestly.

Natalie Cassidy is such a loss to the show though. I always championed a Sonia and Martin reunion as I never felt Stacey treated him right.

Martin slipping Anna a free banana was a plot twist they never developed.

Some very odd Sharon scenes, scripts etc with her not at the funeral but appearing at the wake and again today now leaving to stay with Jada (nice of them to remember she exists). I assume there were some rushed reasons for Letitia not to be there so they had to be covered.

Not up to date with EastEnders at the mo, but watched the funeral episode last night and thought it was nowhere near what they could have made it.

Stacey turning up drunk was actually annoying, but then her speech at the graveside was nice

Lily not going was a choice

Sharon not being able to face it was odd - yes, Letitia Dean probably was sick or something, but they should have just not mentioned her and no-one much would have noticed

After the long wait for this episode, I didn't even come close to shedding a tear and I cry at everything and Martin was one of my fave characters.

Great reminder of the year. Could have done with more Nigel in it though.

At least they had the scene where everyone clapped Whitney for being a horrible cow to remind us that not every storyline was a winner.

After a pretty boring week in EastEnders, it's good to look back and see hoe great it can be (apart from Reiss).

Today's episode got me thinking about Sonia wanting to find her dad pre-2020 lockdown. Did they just forget to pick it up again until now or did they do something with it and I've completely forgotten

Edit: lol ignore me how could I forget the whole Rocky story 🤣

I’m glad we finally get to meet the real Terry Cant just before Sonia goes. That storyline felt dropped after lockdown and then the Rocky thing turning out to be a hoax, just felt like it would never happen.

But why was Harvey looking after Charli whilst he was working? Like why couldn’t she have been with Lilly given its Easter holidays? Or even Ricky? They definitely didn’t think through giving those two a child. Quick sensational storyline and showing none of the realities of teen parenting.

And why was Harvey - a cab driver - sitting there on the phone saying there were no cabs.

Bad management to have to turn away business because one of your drivers is answering the phone.

Omg there has to be a brief Carol return tomorrow, there just has to be.

It was a lovely ending, particularly for Bianca whose been like a bit of a punching bag this past year.

Gutted no Carol though. Rocky felt like a right downgrade tbh.
