I agree that the Jasmine/Zoe plot is full of holes. Good to see Linda back though.

The direction, writing and delivery of the Jasmine reveal scenes were so amateurish today too! Felt like the kind of thing that would be produced for a media studies soap opera teaser.

Christ!! Back to the bad days of EE. The quality was nice while it lasted.

I’d rather Jasmine was just a Ford at this point, none of this makes any sense and it does indeed seem bizarre that she was obsessed with Cindy. Like… why was she not gagging to get a job in the Vic instead when presumably that would have been mentioned in the article she saw about Zoe. It genuinely does feel like they’ve made all this up as they go along and realised partway through she might as well be Zoe’s daughter too.

The way this pure fanfic drivel is going I’m expecting her to die on Christmas Day in Zoe’s arms like a Danielle and ronnie vibe.

I don’t even know what on earth they’re going to do at Christmas, obviously this story is a damp squib anyway but now they’ve farted this out on a random Monday, what’s even left for Christmas? Max finding out about Annie?💀 Short of like… Zoe’s stalker killing her where can this go that’s spectacle enough for a Christmas episode?! But even a death like… who cares, abut any of this, it would be on a who smacked Cindy level of cba. Or like… idk a surprise Jane or Tanya permanent return.

Maybe Zoe was hiding out with ronnie and Roxy in Ibiza this whole time 😀

FFS my post will probably be as incoherent as the current writing but here goes.

There is a clearly something wrong when Ila big reveal lacks a shock factor or doesn’t make any sense. That is what today’s episode achieved.

We all guessed Anthony fathered Zoe’s children when she clocked him at the Vic upon her return. There was also no other reason to keep him around? How did they get around us figuring it out? Zoe outrightly saying that he wasn’t the father plus neither of them acknowledging that they hooked up off screen after they’d left Walford. It’s just lazy.

And why didn’t Zoe just say he’s the dad? What was she afraid of? He’s only acted like a creep in this return and only recently. Where is the danger of that reveal? Where is the drama? It’s proper damp

Squib territory because no one cares. As for his wooden acting, I guess he always was a bit but it worked back in the early 2000s because it played well in the yin and yang relationship he had with fiery Kat. But now it’s plan embarrassing.

As for Jasmine herself. I believe I called it before she was even on screen. But how did they try to fool us? Having her not at all interact with Zoe or even react to her or anything. Deliberately have her creepily asking questions about Cindy, wanting to live in Cindy’s room, break into the surgery after hearing that Cindy had an appointment. This is misdirection but it isn’t clever. It’s not that Jasmine seemed obsessed with Cindy, she actively went out of her way to find out as much as possible. Why was she desperate for a job in the Albert? Why did she want to live in Cindy’s house. I imagine this will all be forgotten now that we’re at the reveal.

Again, she turns up at just the right time. When her mother put an advert out looking for a cat? How does she know Zoe is her mother? I guess we’ll find out tomorrow but I won’t hold my breath at this point.

The problem is this story has been done better in the 80s with Kathy/Donna and in the 2000s with Ronnie/Danielle. This is a sloppy version and not engaging at all. Zoe and Anthony weren’t even characters worth bringing back for something like this. There are probably better characters to do this with. Maybe Mandy Salter has Ian’s child or something? I don’t know but the pieces haven’t even been there for us to try and put this together. We’ve dismissed most theories because they’re ridiculous and this is now a massive let down.

And exactly what will happen and Christmas now? I dread to think.

I thought Jasmine would have seen the article when Zoe got shot? But then would she not have known about the Vic like I said and been obsessed with that instead of getting Freddie fired from the Albert and practically forcing Cindy to hire her. Or did she just know Zoe was in the area and was supposed to be like “maybe this random woman knows her”?! And Jasmine has known she’s right there across the square for 3 months but just… pottered around at the gay bar round the corner and rooted round Cindy’s underwear drawer?! Like ok fine if she was mad and wanted Zoe to pay for abandoning her and maybe she had a hard childhood when adopted and that led her to want revenge, but why is Cindy in it. Cindy could have done with the storyline of the Fords actually catching up and giving her something to do tbh. Idk if Jasmine is even the stalker I wonder if it’s the brother and he will just magically appear at some point (Christmas).

And actually why did Jasmine push Cindy down the stairs? :lol: if she’s not a Ford why would she even care about Cindy that much? If she was that arsed about finding her mum Cindy could have told her she’s over the road brooding about her cat.

The most interesting part of this storyline is picking apart what little sense it all makes It was so obvious I began to think maybe it really isn’t the case the more they dragged it out but that was giving them too much credit.

Jesus christ what is today's episode?? Awful writing and a Max jumpscare at the end. None of Jasmine's Cindy obsession explained at all ugh. Don't even get me started on that fire.

What on Earth is going on? That gave us no further answers on anything from yesterday. Do the think Max being back will distract us or something.

The highlight of every episode right now is Elaine snapping ‘boutique hotel’.

Oscar not having a key to his own house and having to break in to get Zoe out, the tiniest fire ever landing him in hospital after 5 seconds yet Zoe is fine after being in there longer, Max appearing out of nowhere somehow knowing Oscar was in hospital… Comical.

Having watched the scene back Lauren rang "someone" to say that "something had happened to Oscar" and I guess that someone was Max.

Yes, Lauren did ring someone who must have been Max but surely it would make more sense to ring Tanya? No matter how mad she may have been with her son, she’d surely visit if he almost died?

And yes Zoe just being wrapped in a blanket after all that exposure to a fire she probably could have just put out herself makes no sense. But this isn’t the first time? Remember when Jasmine took the full impact of Nigel’s car and was wandering around a couple of days later whereas Gina was pushed out of the way and ended up in hospital for weeks on end?

If they can’t even get these details right, It’s no wonder these twists are so poorly written.

Jasmine did discharge herself though and was in obvious pain when she moving around.

Which is fine but why was Gina in hospital for weeks when the car didn’t touch her? And now we have this second scenario with Oscar/Zoe? There’s no attention to detail.

Don’t have Gina pushed out of the way if she’s supposed to get badly injured. Don’t have Zoe get more exposure to the fire if she isn’t going to hospital too.

Genuinely, I think if the Christmas episodes are as shite as the lead up is there's going to be so many people just giving up on it, that seems to be the general consensus from what I've read online anyway.

Having old characters return and be central in the main plot only works if they can act. I'm still holding out hope for Michelle Ryan because she hasn't been given much to work with but Anthony needs to piss off, I really struggle watching him. Even pairing him with good characters/actresses isn't helping. I mean, Bobby Brazier did a better job with little to no experience 😅

Maybe it's Zoe's son that's doing all this, him and Jasmine have been in touch and have hatched a revenge plan together 😅
