I actually quite like Honey interacting with Bea but you can just see that Honey is going to end up shattered as a result of whatever it is Bea is getting up to as that friendship there is already developing. Whilst I don't like things being immediately shoved in our faces it would be good to have some context behind what Bea is doing; it's the same with Jasmine in that it'll all come out too late for anyone to care.

I would assume it’s going to be similar to the Janine/Mick/Linda situation, she’s going to infiltrate Honey’s life and steal Billy or at least try to. She seems to latch on quickly and get obsessed once she has an idea so I think she’ll get jealous of Honey’s nice little life and decide she wants it as she’s never had that. I suppose it’s more interesting to have her just befriend Honey first and then stick the knife in even more but I agree it still is annoying that these new characters just get pushed in our faces and we’re expected to care or understand their motivations.

I agree with that, they have a lot of physical similarities and the irony of them meeting because Honey was impersonating Bea etc. I don't even think she will be doing it to get with Billy I think it will be more of an identify theft type situation given how vague she is about her past jobs, why she was booted out her old flat, how she seemingly just makes shit up and knows how to work the system - ie the compensation claims etc

Poor Honey but i do hope it doesnt go in the direction that Billy cheats, Billy is a character i wouldnt miss if he left or was axed but while he is on the show he needs to be with Honey.

Bea... Irritating to say the very least.

Why would Alfie even think Jake was dead? I know Jake’s initial exit was left up in the air as to whether he was going to die or not, but Alfie had been gone from the show for almost a year at that point. I’m not sure word of Jake’s ‘death’ would have even reached him.

I wonder if they're just playing out on screen what they wanted viewers to think in 2006 in that Johnny Allen's hitman had killed him? I suppose they've got to make up some kind of story for Jake never contacting Alfie again but even then assuming he's dead does feel like too much of a stretch without truly knowing what happened. Perhaps they'll explain things next week, it does seem like he and Alfie are going to have an emotional reunion.

Mark Junior just isn’t working for me. There’s literally nothing Fowler about him at all. I know the last one was 10 years ago and only for a handful of episodes but the change in character feels jarring. I also hope this isn’t Wadey trying to ‘reset’ Phil.

I don’t know how Jessie Wallace copes with the awful dialogue these days.

Mark is giving Wadey knows Ross Kemp will never come back full time so is just morphing him into Grant Jr or pre 2020s Phil. And that’s just not what we need, yet again everything Ben Wadey introduces is just pure fanfic bilge and is never thought about beyond surface level. A one dimensional muscled hard man walking about grunting and going on about sketchy crime dealings. At least he’s hot I suppose 😅
