Somehow I think it’s almost worse than an off screen exit like why even bother 💀 They could have just had her stay at Lynne’s or decide to do some kind of job away from the Square, but with how disastrous this return has been I wouldn’t be surprised if Michelle wanted the door closed permanently and you can’t blame her really. I suppose on the plus side it finally gives Kat something big to do.

Idk it’s realistic and could be refreshing to have a shock sudden death with little fanfare like this, but it’s a shambles to do that for a legacy character imo.

When michelle returned one of her reasons for the time been right was she couldn't resist the great return storyline she was given so I wonder did they run through it all with her before she agreed or what

The storyline was fine, it was the execution of it that was awful. Anthony returning, the revelation of two kids, his death, all of it could've been spectacular, but instead we got months of a "stalker" storyline and not much else, plus Jasmine was SO unlikeable.

Kacey didn't want to come back, I mean we've seen two classic characters return to be an absolute complete shadow of their previous stint, and then we got Cindy and Max getting married, what joy.

From YOU AIN'T MY MUVVA...to this. Absolutely f**king tragic.

Truly one of (if not THE) the most disastrous legacy character returns in Soap history.

I mean the Denise scenes were extremely powerful today but just imagine how much more powerful they would have been if we didn’t already know that Denise will be alive and walking around on New Years Day? Seriously this Flash Forward was not worth it.

Also that random man Kat threw out the pub had me howling.

I feel like the flashforward is pointless, it's not doing what it did with the six storyline

I've not seen today's episode yet but I'm a bit wary after comments I've seen, my uncle had the same cancer as Denise, he passed away very recently as well so it's a storyline that hits close to home

It is a difficult watch.

A strong start to the week! Diane Parish and Scott Maslen were both phenomenal, really moving performances.

I liked the hopeful ending too after such heavy scenes.

Jasmine seemed a bit miffed Zoe is staying away a little longer. Sowing the seeds for the accident I guess.

The Craig and Amy scenes are awful. Terribly written and it feels like the actors are embarrassed to be reading those lines.

Agreed, the flash forward hasn’t set up anything worth it ,even if the pregnant woman/bride happens not to be Priya/Cindy, who cares? Even if they throw some kind of curveball, it’s still the same old affair storyline they’ve been doing for years with Max. But at this point it can’t really be anyone else. I wouldn’t really be surprised if the pregnant woman was Stacey and that’s how she comes back tbf lol

All it has done is ruin any form of tension around stuff like Ian’s prison sentence and Denise’s cancer. Whilst the latter is a powerful storyline, it does lose some of that knowing there’s no stakes and she’s still around next year.

Craig is getting closer to Amy because he secretly knows her mum and auntie are still alive!!!!!!

(or not and it's just a truly terrible noncey storyline x)

As if it wasn't obvious where things were going before, the inevitable "you're an old soul" comment sealed it. I feel like Amy is smarter than this, especially with having a cop dad, surely what happened with Whitney would be a family story of why you shouldn't trust everything older men say to you when you're a minor! I guess it's the parallel of Denzel not asking her out in case she thought he was taking advantage of her at a vulnerable time and then Craig, an adult who absolutely knows better deciding to do just that.

Ngl it feels too soon for Denise to be waking up? Considering how much of a big deal it was on Monday, to be brought out of a coma 2 days later with a "the chemo has sort of worked" stance feels kind of like a damp squib. I appreciate they want a Denise / Darnell moment but that could've waited a couple of weeks for max impact no?

Low key kind of wish it was Alfie that was dying instead of Zoe. Lily calling him out for his theme nights was hilarious.
