I was checking their album out for the first time as I have enjoyed a lot of the songs Radio 2 have playlisted and noticed it but had also just read a remixed version of Protojes song was Carla Amfos tune of the week with a slightly different name of the Protoje album track so thought it might have been similar here for some reason lol!

Radio 2 are actually broadcasting chilled out love songs hosted by Ken Bruce.. you probably did just catch an instrumental of Leave A Light On though

Random.. and unnecessary. I can understand them clearing the schedules today but not the whole weekend.

Agreed, completely unnecessary.

Just going back to Radio 2’s playlist - I wonder why they’re ignoring Rasputin? It seems like the type of dance song that would be completely up their street especially as they’ve playlisted ‘Everybody Dance’ recently.

Nice to see both Becky Hill and London Grammar both make the playlist too!

The Ashe/Finneas song on Radio 2 is really good, shame the latter hasn't ever emulated the success of his sister with anything.

Also, I'm surprised they added Embers so early on - it hasn't really caught on much on iTunes outside its first week, so the a-list airplay is doing very little for it, but it might have had more of an impact closer to the contest, by which time I imagine the song will be long gone from the playlist.

Yeah they will have dumped James Newman by the time the contest starts, even if they give it the rare 8 weeks it'll still be out before the final.

I expect they will continue to give it some spot plays in the week or two leading up to the contest though - Ken Bruce especially

Not surprised to see Paul Weller added as its record of the week on Ken Bruce next week, Paul must deliver a new album every 18 months a prolific man with a huge amount of song ideas. Also great to see 'Till Forever Falls Apart' climbing, a nice track. I did think they would promote Smith & Burrows up to the A-List considering how unlikely popular its proving on itunes this week. And I know he may be over 80 now but Sir Toms new single is absolutely fantastic as is Van Morrisons new one!

I don't think Smith & Burrows have ever been A Listed (though Andy has on his own) so it would be a first if they do promote it. I have to say there has been a lot of unexpected movement recently in an otherwise usually static playlist. I hope London Grammar don't get stuck on the C List, I'm very surprised this is the first single of the era they've supported.
