A weird double playlist this week that covers us through until next week, hence the dual ROTW and AOTW. Cat Burns goes off on Saturday with Louise being added then to replace her which is why there's 11 tracks on the B List.

Both Meghan Trainor and P!nk join the exclusive 8 week club and yes there have been others to achieve this feat Steve201 before you ask :P. However it is more like 9 weeks given the overlap of Christmas and New Year which is actually a first.

Very surprising that they are continuing to rinse the Olly Murs album for 4 updates straight (5 weeks)!

Are they actually playing a few different songs off it?

I wonder if ‘I Hate You When You’re Drunk’ was supposed to be on the playlist instead of the full album for those weeks but due to some of the negative press it got they just decided to play songs from the album instead.

Very much the same tracks each week, neither of the singles have been played which is rare for them to do

w/c 3rd Dec:

25 - 2

Dancing On Cars - 2

Don't Stop Dancing - 4

Go Ghost - 1

I Found Her - 3

Let Me Just Say - 1

w/c 10th Dec:

Dancing On Cars - 3

Dont Stop Dancing - 9

Go Ghost - 1

I Found Her - 1

Let Me Just Say - 1

w/c 17th Dec:

25 - 1

Dancing On Cars - 4

Don't Stop Dancing - 6

Go Ghost - 3

I Found Her - 2

Let Me Just Say - 1

They're obviously loving 'Don't Stop Dancing', I wonder if that will be the next single? But yes very odd for them not to play either of the singles. I suppose the negative press for the second single didn't help but you would think they'd give 'Die Of A Broken Heart' the odd spin.

 I was going to ask lol. Always interested in changes at R2 as it’s become more diverse and R1 caters more for the young uns!

Overall the new Xmas songs didn’t get much of an outing this December due to the way the weeks fell and maybe also the lack of quality new songs albeit I did like the Maisie Peters and PP Arnold tracks!

Not a huge amount of difference between R1/2 when it comes to the MOR artists.

Lady Blackbird and Kaiser Chiefs getting a lot of spins considering they were on there late!

Not surprised that P!nk is that high despite being released late in the year - I tune in just for PopMaster and Scott's show but hear it all the time

Sam Ryder in the top 3 + 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' just outside the top 10 :cheeseblock: Radio 1's list is overall more to my taste than Radio 2's still but those are some iconic exceptions x

Only 176 plays for their top song of the year seems surprisingly low though!

Radio 2's playlist moves a lot quicker than other stations and not many tracks enjoy the pleasure of getting spins after they have been dropped, unless they were on the A List. They also have more specialist shows, particularly at the weekends that prevent the regular tracks from being spun. 176 plays isn't massive no, but certainly shows off the diversity of different tracks played.

I see - I guess that makes sense if they don't play songs much after they drop off the playlist.

To my eternal joy have just heard 'I'm Good (Blue)' on Heart for the first time so guessing that's on their playlist now. <_<

That Thomas Headon record on Radio 2's A-list is a belter. In a sane world it'd be a hit.

I really liked it and I had to Shazam it which is very rare for me.
