Interesting thing. I travelled quite a bit over the Christmas & New Year & on my travels I happened to bump into two celebrities quite by accident & we made eye contact also quite by accident & both of them had terror in their eyes as if to say why was I looking at them which I wasn't really, they just happened to come into my line of vision , I just looked away & kept on walking . I thought it was funny at the time but it struck me afterwards that these must always be on high alert when they are out about .

ROBBIE WILLIAMS. This portrait has been living in my head rent free for over a year. Yes, I’m a Robbie fan under 40. Yes, I’m late to the party. No, I will not stop requesting Angels at karaoke. 

I watched the movie, Better Man at the end of 2024. I went in with 0 expectations. I came out tearful and wanting to get “I ❤️ ROBBIE WILLIAMS” tattooed on my tits. Yeah, he's fit, he's a charmer, but what really got me is how much I could relate to that CGI monkey. I went home, watched all the Robbie docs, listened to his music on repeat, bought tickets to see him live. Not that I’m intense or anything…. 

What I love is, you can’t put Robbie in a box. He’s rebellious, unapologetic, funny, cheeky and undeniably flawed. He makes me feel like it’s OK to be the crazy lil weirdo I am. The man doesn't claim to be the best singer, the best songwriter, but he is an incredible Entertainer. The best. And he’s ended up with more number 1s than The Beatles, with a loving family. I’m not the best at anything, I’m self taught, my paintings are glorified GCSE work, I’m not for everyone, but I’m doing what I love and I’m trying my best. If Robbie is anything to go by, it might work out.

Thank you Robbie, for giving me hope, entertainment and a Pinterest board full of endless 90s gold.

Wait.
That’s not me feeling jealous of an event I wouldn’t have wanted to attend… is it?
Watching the Oscars, a few things struck me.
I’m sat there ticking off a mental checklist of whom I’m allowing to have success, to be celebrated - and who I’m not.
It’s the committee in my head again.
Tonight it’s called: “Club – Things I’m Not Allowing to Happen.”
Sometimes I think:
‘It wont do for me to be successful. You have to NOT be’
I don’t like this about myself, of course.
Has the reverence we once had for the Oscars died? I think so.
Its always made me feel small.
It’s the biggest cultural event that ranks creative people in front of the whole world.
And no matter how big my career has been or is, I always come away feeling like an unpaid extra in a film I wasn’t cast in.
‘Resentment: The Musical.’
It’s so weird. I’m not even in that industry, and I don’t feel that way about the Grammys or the BRITs.
So what gives?
If I think why:
The Oscars is somehow the temple of entertainment… the pinnacle.
Film has carried a kind of mystical prestige.
I’m not, and haven’t been, in the room.
And here’s what’s more bizarre.
I don’t want to go.
I get anxiety just thinking about it. When my song for Better Man didn’t get nominated, I felt relief.
So why doesn’t that tally with my self-worth when the damn thing is on?
Maybe I resent the myth of greatness?
Maybe I resent its broken promise?
Like when you realise it’s not actually fun to stay at the YMCA.
But now that I see its power diminish, it makes me feel sad.
We were kings once: the people on screen AND the audience.
We’re something else now.
As one of the winners said,
“Art has the power to change the world.”
I winced.
If it does, it’s taking its sweet f***ing time.
Then I remembered - I’m Robbie Williams, and none of this was supposed to happen to someone like me.
Art changed my world.
And if it doesn’t actually change the world with a big C,
it helps you survive it.

Laura. Above is a post by Philip who is an Administrator on BJ in relation to posting from Instagram. It seems they are not going to go down that road as the demand by Users is not there.

The only reason I can post is that I use Snapinsta to download the Instagram link & I then create a video on You Tube which I post here & credit it back to the owner by inserting the Instragram link .

When it comes to posting from other media I remove all the ads before I post . All very messy I know.

On top of that I now have to cope with Ai changing what I post such as grammar/spelling etc. the cheek of it.
