In lieu of the previous SyncTube sessions' weekly polls cutting each week's songs down to a list of 10 options to vote for because no one volunteered to do the work to make such curated lists, for our Hot 100 #1s marathon I'm just going to post one of these threads each week allowing people to vote for whichever songs they want from the full list x

If you don't know what the above sentence is referring to don't worry, this thread is open to participation from anyone (although we're always open to new participants at our weekly listening sessions x), just post in the thread with up to 5 favourites and, if you want, up to 3 least favourites from the below song list. The song with the most favourite nods will get a play at the start of next week's session (and the song with the most least favourite nods will just have a permanent place on a wall of shame for funziez).

From 9 participants in the first week's vote, it was a close race for the pick for favourite but ultimate won by Percy Faith's 'Theme From "A Summer Place"' with 7 votes, just ahead of Ray Charles' 'Hit The Road Jack' on 6 votes. The Shirelles rounded out the top 3 with 'Will You Love Me Tomorrow' picking up 5 votes. As for the worst vote, that was basically a formality as Larry Verne's 'Mr. Custer' got a whopping 8 votes, with joint 2nd on just 2 votes each split between Jimmy Dean's 'Big Bad John', The Chipmunks and David Seville's 'The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)' (how could you xx) and Mark Dinning's 'Teen Angel'.

Wall of Fame

Week 1 (Aug 1958-Apr 1962): Percy Faith - Theme From "A Summer Place" [7/9]

Wall of Shame

Week 1 (Aug 1958-Apr 1962): Larry Verne - Mr. Custer [8/9]

This week's selection covers the 70th through 115th #1s, from May 1962 (The Shirelles' 'Soldier Boy') to mid August 1964 (Dean Martin's 'Everybody Loves Somebody'). Will be open for twice as long this week as we're not doing a session on the 15th x
