A lot of people say their signed Coldplay cds/vinyls still haven’t been shipped so if that is delayed until next week they could still have a lot but I would for sure think Charli will clear 30k easy which would be enough

I'd be curious too. Some songs follow the same structure and others are drastically different, like the Ariana remix.

I think it will because the Spotify album includes the originals as does the vinyl she’s selling which is probably to meet the guidelines

Coldplay are likely gonna put the tour edition and full moon CDs on the UK store next week.

I can't gauge what the brat remix album is going to do at all. Like, on other music forums I'm on, I'm seeing every feeling music can possibly have. Sometimes that's just haters trying to find any reason to discredit a work they know is good, sometimes that's diehard fans trying to convince the world an album they know is bad is actually good. Personally any snippet I've heard is worse than the original song (except for Guess and Girl, so confusing), but I've hated some absolute smash hits so I obviously don't speak for the majority

It will do really well first week for sure, remember Taylor Swift stole 1 with nefarious tactics so Charli getting 1 is fitting way to end the brat cycle

Really? I think 30k-40k is pretty in line with expectations due to how big the album has been and it's got some major names on as collabs which will appeal to other fanbases. I think it's going to be closer to 40k than it is 30k, but we'll see!

 

Feel like Coldplay are a shoe in for a 35K+ second week as well, as can’t see it dropping more than 85% in one week, which it’d need to do to fall behind that.

 

Yes it’ll be front loaded, but I don’t think many albums drop more than 85% week on week; so could hold resistance to Charli as I’d have predicted her to land around 30-40K; would have been much higher but the vinyls are more than £60 which are the main collectors item, much more expensive than other vinyls, she should have released the album as a stand alone rather than BRAT + BRAT remix album, making it double the price/tracklist size

Yeah I think 30-40 for sure? It’s definitely going to get at least 4x the streams as last week, with regular BRAT being out for 5 months… which will bring it to about 20K on streams, and I think she has built a core fanbase; especially after going viral to do at least 10K+ physicals for this remix album, likely more; my guess is around 20K physicals; therefore 40K in total.

 

But could be wrong, I do agree that the vinyls being about £70 due to it being BRAT + BRAT remix will reduce the vinyl sales by at least half and will reduce those for sure, but still think physicals despite the price will be around 20K with streaming around 20K also.

 

Just depends if Coldplay have left any of their signed albums behind to just get a second week at #1

At least the remix album cd is relatively cheap considering it contains both albums so sales of that will hopefully be decent. There's the brat deluxe vinyl released today as well which will help.

 

What about James blunt releasing his debut trying for number 1, he's doing a stunt saying he will change his name to ryanair or something

Blunt has no chance no matter how many stunts he tries

 

from reading on reddit, some variants of moon music weren't sent on week 1 it seems

so it's very difficult to predict how much Coldplay will do
